Things have changed since Grace Management left. Constant staff changes. Frequently short staffed. There are a few people there who are reliable and dedicated, but there is a lot left to be desired. Latest nurse just left, after only a couple of months on board. Told one thing, then told something totally different. That is all I will say for now. Don't want retaliation on my loved one. Too aged and frail to move, don't want more problems. We have only been there shortly but I can tell you after reviewing quite a number of other assisted living/memory care facilities I walked into this Avalon and immediately knew this was the one. From the beautiful setting to the relaxed residence and the friendliness of everybody, as well as The ambience, amenities offered, etc. I knew this was a home for dad. After a tumultuous hospital and rehab stay they took my father in as if he was their own grandfather and in a very short period of time just about everybody knew him. Unfortunately he threw some blood clots and had to be re-hospitalized and while waiting for him to come home to the avalon every time I went up there everybody asked for him it was very heartwarming. This is a place that truly seems to care 100% about their residence I would highly recommend it. Five stars

Avalon of Bloomfield is a great option for those looking for Assisted Living and Memory Care in the Birmingham/Bloomfield area. It is well maintained, the food gets raves and the families/residents have great things to say about the care and staff.

My mom spent almost 4 years at Avalon on its memory care floor until her passing. The staff was wonderful. The upbeat attitude and genuine care for her was great to see. I would recommend the folks at Avalon for anyone’s loved ones. It was great to see mom smiling when we would have our weekly visits. Thanks to the folks at Avalon for your great care!
