American House Freedom Place Memory Care of Rochester Hills is a clean, calming, and safe environment where residents receive excellent care. The staff is friendly, happy, and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I love this place. Caring, friendly staff in a homey environment. My mom has dementia. She lived with me and our family for 7 years until last December, when she fell, broke bones, and had surgery. Her dementia became extreme and I knew I could no longer take care of her. We searched many memory care facilities and when we walked into Freedom Place, we knew we found her new home. It's like a whole new family. The director, AK, is friendly and welcoming. He works hard to make sure everything is running smoothly and he really knows and interacts with each and every resident. I appreciate how he keeps me updated about everything and shares stories about my mom. The activities director, Chelsea, is full of energy and love for the residents. She knows their likes and dislikes and keeps them busy and happy. She and her helper, Sarah, are kind and patient and get right in there to provide all aspects of care. The head cook, Kim, does a wonderful job with meals. She knows each resident and what they like. Her chili is awesome! And I'm especially thankful for the caregivers. They really are great. When my mom moved in, I was put at ease knowing Amanda and Paris were taking such good care of her. Each caregiver I meet at Freedom Place amazes me with their patience and kindness. Mom is always clean and dressed nicely. She settled in quickly and is truly happy. As hard as it was for me to place my mom in a facility, I feel grateful to have help to provide her with the best possible care she could have. And to know that she's happy and loved.

Our beautiful 96 year old mother was a resident of this facility. Unit 104, Manor 4 Rochester Hills, Michigan. There were some really really good people that took a very sincere interest in our mother. We were very grateful to them. She passed away after only living there for six months this past June 2023. We have been waiting for over two months after multiple phone calls to Debbie Smith, the general manager of all the American House Facilities is in the metropolitan Detroit area for a refund that was to be prorated and refunded since certain services were not provided through the end of the month due to her passing. Here it is over two months later and no refund. She occasionally takes my calls and tells me she’s checking into it and she’ll call me back to let me know when we can expect the refund. She never does. Never. I have to keep calling her and calling her. It’s not a huge amount. However, I am out of patience. She is producing less than zero results results. I have turned this over to my attorney today. The worst part of all is my father had given my mother two very precious, beautiful, gold, bracelets, and a matching ring with a beautiful ruby. The last week of my mothers life, she was in a Hospice bed in her apartment there. We have alerted the Oakland County Sheriff that they were stolen from there. I spoke with them just a few days ago and they said they had three leads of who took them. I let the facility manager know When we discover them missing. All we want is to have them returned. We would not pursue it any further if they were just bring them back. That never happened. I confronted them .. they lied and they said they had nothing to do with that. Stay away from this place! Horrible!!
