Parkwood Estates

Parkwood Estates in Fort Collins,is an independent living in Colorado. I moved 3 1/2years ago from Massachusetts. Ì have been very happy here, the staff is wonderful and there are many activities to enjoy. I highly recommend trying out different activities, you'll make friends and have fun. You may find out you are an artist! I did! The grounds are lovely here with old growth trees and lovely blossoms in the spring. I love being out walking my dog in the beautiful Colorado weather. The building has been remodelled inside and out,and looks great.

I’ve been a resident of Parkwood Estates since September 2023. I very much like the physical facility itself: the interior upgrades, my apartment, the way the building is laid out, the grounds. My reason for giving Parkwood 4 stars is dining services. And, remember, this is my opinion [emphasis on ‘my’]. Meals are on a 5-week rotational basis. But during those 5 weeks, many of the meals, especially breakfast, are frequently repeated. Even though the menus are basically dictated by corporate, I wish that the chefs could use their imaginations more, even with the second option offered for lunch and supper. Our general manager is very much in tune with the needs of the residents. In fact, when she was appointed our GM, there was rejoicing and ‘dancing in the streets’ [so to speak]. All staff members fulfill their functions as best they can each day. Remember, they’re all human.Do you have a perfect day every day? Speaking of staff, I’d like to give kudos to one of our housekeepers, Faith. From my own weekly experience, Faith does an excellent job at whatever she does, whether it be vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, dusting, mopping the floor or changing and laundering the bed linens. There are also instances when the 2 housekeepers are called upon to help serve meals, due to a lack of servers. Bottom line, I like living at Parkwood.

I moved to Parkwood 3 years ago, my MS had got to the point where I was having trouble with things like making meals and cleaning but I definitely wasn’t ready for assisted living. My daughters went with me to look at the many different facilities in Fort Collins but when we got to Parkwood we could all tell we had found someplace special. From the moment we walked into the building it felt like home. The staff greeted us with warm caring smiles and made sure we felt welcome. After living here for 3 years I can say without hesitation that I’m glad I made the decision to move here. Parkwood offers so many wonderful things for someone in my situation. 3 good home cooked meals per day. Weekly house cleaning. Bus service from Parkwood to anywhere in the city Monday through Friday, special programs and presentations, and a caring encouraging atmosphere that motivates the residents to stay engaged in their lives and community.

Our family has had a wonderful experience with Parkwood Estates. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and the community atmosphere is something special. Since moving in, our mom has become more social, active, and happy thanks to the friendships and activities available. It’s comforting to know she's surrounded by caring people and a community that truly focuses on quality of life. We are so grateful for the positive impact Parkwood Estates has had on our mom!
