I can’t say enough wonderful things about Avista Senior Living in Ferndale! The level of care and compassion they provide is truly outstanding. From the moment you walk through the doors, you feel like part of a warm, welcoming family. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and genuine kindness. A special shoutout to Emily and Chloe, who are absolute gems! Their dedication, patience, and friendly attitudes make such a positive impact. You can tell they love what they do and it shows in how happy and well-cared-for the residents are.

Firstly, I want to start by saying this building has a habit of not ordering medication on time. Several times now I have been told by my loved one that they didn't have their medication. I spoke to 2 different med techs at each time this happened and was told they were waiting for cycle fill. If a resident is running low on medication they should not have to wait until the next cycle fill to receive it. Second my loved one has had Falls during the night and I've been told there was nothing reported to morning staff, no call to family and this is just unprofessional. lastly, I'd like to add nepotism is big in this facility, Lots of mom and daughter or sibling workers. Atleast 4 that I am aware of and that's nearly the entire staff. Just be careful with who you trust when bringing your family and friends here.

My elderly mother was living there for almost a year. I believe by the time we took her out, the whole staff had quit. The kitchen had flooded, and residents had to eat out of to go containers for over 3 months until the leaks were fixed. I know that they had at least 2 medication reports to the state. The staff was always good to my mother, but not well trained. Before Louisa House was bought by Avista, I hear it was a nice place. To bad big buisness ruined it.
