My mom has lived at Waterhouse the past 9 months. She is receiving compassionate and attentive care from the dedicated staff of caregivers. Our family feels she is in a safe and nurturing environment. The activities and enrichment provided is excellent especially made fun by activities leader Diana . A full day of hands on games, crafts and mental and physical activities with weekly live entertainment makes this place different than other memory care facilities. Waterhouse has made big strides in hiring quality staff in key positions in the past 6 months and positive changes are evident. Memory care is a challenging environment to manage and lead, and it’s not going to be perfect, but there is passion and commitment amongst the employees. I confidently recommend that you come take a tour when looking for a home for your loved one.

Our family is so grateful for the wonderful care my mom has received at Waterhouse Ridge Memory Care. Since she moved in earlier this year, the entire team has shown such professionalism, compassion, and respect. My mom’s friends have even commented that the caregivers here truly set a higher standard compared to other communities they visit. It gives us great peace of mind to know she’s surrounded by people who treat her with dignity and kindness every day. The activities and engagement opportunities are wonderful, and we appreciate the thoughtful communication that keeps us connected. Thank you to everyone at Waterhouse Ridge for creating such a warm, welcoming, and caring environment for residents and their families. — Grateful Daughter

If I could give this less than one star, I would. I’m surprised this place hasn’t shut down yet. There is a website to look at Oregon facilities and all of their infractions. If you look at these, you will be mortified. This review is NOT an isolated experience. There are many, many more just like ours. “Waterhouse Ridge is under new leadership and is working to resolve these issues” is probably one of their favorite lines. Don’t think this means the promise of a good future for your loved ones. They are ALWAYS under new “leadership.” It’s changed hands at least 3-4 times in the last 5 years. The amount of violations and incompetency never improves. I could spend hours talking about every single thing they did wrong to and with our family member, but that would be a waste of my time. Our family member was there for 3 years — let me sum it up for you: - Total neglect - Medication not ordered in time - Bacteria in her toothbrush - A bloody closet bar (the metal bar you hang clothes on) stuffed in the bottom drawer of resident’s dresser with a bloody rag. - Blaming resident for shortcomings of staff (more incidents in addition to the one mentioned below) - Residents got out and walked down the road because door didn’t latch properly and staff WAS NOT watching the door/cameras while door was not functional. While waiting to meet with the director, the accountant said it’s because the resident is a “Walky-Talky” (someone who still walks and talks), blaming the event on the resident. - Giving our family member the wrong food and no medication, instead sending them to the hospital many times to get the diabetes medication they never ordered on time. The new facility she is at never sent her to the hospital once, because they took proper care of her! - There’s more. So much more. To anyone that has placed their family member here since ours left, I’m sorry I didn’t post sooner. We needed time to recover. I don’t want to hear any response from management. I can tell you all that, based on our experience, every reply I’ve seen from management here is not true. Apart from their “new leadership.”

“I am the brother of a resident at Waterhouse Ridge, and I cannot express how grateful I am for everything the staff and management have done for my family. We had some unique and challenging circumstances, and it was a lot for the team to manage, yet they handled everything with patience, compassion, and professionalism. The executive director truly went above and beyond to support my brother. I honestly don’t know of any other ED who would have put so much extra effort into ensuring he was safe, supported, and cared for. The care staff were equally incredible—helping my brother contact me when he needed to talk, and always treating him with kindness and respect. I also appreciated that the executive director consistently took the time to speak with me directly and keep me updated on my brother’s situation. Because of the dedication and heart shown by everyone at Waterhouse Ridge, I would highly recommend this community. They truly go the extra mile, and my family is deeply grateful.”
