I was welcomed by Mimi upon my arrival to Vitality. She had a warm smile and the energy was instant. Several residents were sitting outside in the front garden area laughing and enjoying the beautiful weather. This place is not only stunning but every resident speaks to you and they like their home. I was blown away by the exercise gym and therapy team. The housekeeping team are on top of keeping it clean and smelling great. The square footage in the apartments and closet space are beyond better than the norm for assisted living apartments, especially newer constructions. The outside space with raised garden beds in the memory care neighborhood stood out to me. They also had fresh orange slices they were snacking on. I met a med tech who has worked their for 6 years, a server who said “oh this is the best place, and trust me I’ve worked at the others” and the nicest couple that moved in utilizing the transportation often. They talked about how pleased they were with so much offered to do and do not regret their decision moving to assisted living in their early 80s. A group of ladies were playing bridge, another group putting cookie bags together for a local charity, therapy gym was packed, and salon was fullly equipped. The lady getting her hair done said no matter what age we all love getting our hair fixed. I was very pleased to see this place as an option for seniors in the area and glad I made the visit. I look forward to coming back to volunteer and play the unique vintage grand piano for everyone.

My mom has been at Vitality for the past few months. It is a very nice facility, and there are some GREAT people there, but unfortunately, they seem to be short staffed, and I am concerned the residents are not getting their care they deserve. For example, room cleaning and laundry are supposed to be included in the price, but in my experience, it is often neglected, and I end up doing the work for my mom. I don’t mind doing it, but the fact is I paid Vitality to do it. More importantly, in my opinion, there is no urgency whatsoever when it comes to responding to residents in need. My mom has fallen, and no one responded in a timely manner. Fortunately, her door was open, and another resident helped her. I have also heard from other residents that recently someone fell out of the bed and laid on the floor for approximately two hours. If this is true, then Vitality has a serious problem. This is completely unacceptable for an assisted living facility, and I am honestly worried about the safety of the residents. Vitality needs to fix their staffing problem ASAP. In the meantime, they need to stop accepting new residents so the people that are there get the attention they deserve.

Over the last several years, I have been able to partner with this incredible facility in placing many hospice patients within the community. We have experienced phenomenal care from the loving staff go above and beyond make this a wonderful place for their residence. They are a great partner for our team allowing residence to age in place without having to leave what they have known as home in their final weeks and months of life. Thank you to Vitality’s team for all you do.
