The Lakeside at Amelia

I've been at the Lakeside community for a year and have nothing but amazing things to say. The moment I came I knew this place was my second home. The engagement team in assist living is very supportive and hands on. They are always reminding of upcoming activities and events. Tonya and Brittany from engagement is always keeping the residents active and always so friendly to the residents. I also want to say that the care staff here is so supportive and attentive to my needs. I feel safe and heard here. Thank you lakeside for everything. You all are amazing.

Our Dad was a resident of The Lakeside at Amelia Island for the past 7 years, relocating from Sarasota, FL which had been his home for 25 years. He was one of the initial residents of the community when it opened in January 2019. He began his residence in an independent living apartment and transitioned to assisted living in April 2025. Shortly thereafter, following a stroke, he transferred to Lakeside memory care until his passing last month at 94 years of age. Each move was seamless and Dad enjoyed years of extended independence due to the support and services provided through Lakeside's various residential options. The attention, camaraderie, and care shown by all Lakeside staff (and residents) made Lakeside home for him. We can’t say enough good things about everyone – administrators, direct care staff (nursing/CNA), and direct service people (dining, housekeeping, engagement, wellness, concierge/transportation). Also, a shout-out for the “behind-the-scenes” folks and their staffs – (Maintenance Director, Justin Sloper; Sales Director, Jen Riesenberger; and Business Office Director, Nora Bequette) – always willingly and promptly assisting (with a smile) whenever needed. My mother in law moved to FB when my father in law passed away in 2024. We were able to get her into assisted living very quickly. She was able to get her health improved and moved over to the independent apartments. Both AL and IL buildings are beautiful, clean and peaceful. There are many caring and outstanding people working at Lakeside but two that stand beyond compare are Debbie Tavaras and Patti Gomez. Each of these women cares deeply for the residents and their families and friends. The engagement workers offer a very wide variety of activities and trips as well as social gatherings so there's something for everyone each week or day.

I would like to give Lakeside at Amelia Island my highest recommendation. My mother has lived in Independent Living and now is in the Assisted Living residences and I can truly say that the care and attention the staff show to her (and my family) consistently exceeds my expectations. I believe Lakeside to be the premiere senior living experience on Amelia Island, having toured all of the options on island before committing to moving into Assisted Living. from Nora (Business Director and her partner Debbie (LTC coordinator - both helpful and with excellent senses of humor!) to Jen R (Dir of sales) and the amazing CNA and Dining staff, the team at Lakeside has embraced my mother and made her very welcome in the community. I trust them completely with the care of my family member. The food is quite good and consistent, and there are more engaging activities and trips out than even a 20 year old could keep up with - it is not staid or boring in any way. If you are considering a senior living environment that is caring, safe, engaging, and welcoming, you can do no better than taking a look at Lakeside.
