My brother was interviewed by the head nurse before he was accepted at Solana. They were told about his issues. We paid the $4,500.00 community fee, and the $10,195.00 first month. He was there for one night before they said he could not stay, because he acted out, and scared the residents. He was sent to a behavioral hospital. We found an alternate facility for him, because they told us he could not return unless he was "calm". When I asked for some consideration to have part of the money we paid returned, I never even got a return email. If you want someplace that they just care about the money, Solana is for you. FOLLOW UP I finally reached the Interim General Manager, Tom Smith, and he agreed that my brother should receive the $4,500 community fee back, because he only resided there for 1 night. I hadn't received the refund, so I emailed Mr Smith, and was told that he was no longer there, but the new business manager was aware of the refund. I STILL had not received the refund, and when I left a message for the new business manager, SURPRISE, I got no answer, and of course, no refund. The new people seem to be all about the money, as well. Good luck if you find yourself with a problem such as my brothers. FOLLOW UP TO THE FOLLOW UP Today, October 4th, much to my surprise, I received a FULL REFUND for all the money we paid to Solana. It was totally unexpected, since I had only asked for the Community Fee to be returned. I commend the new owners of Solana to take my criticism so seriously. Obviously I am retracting everything I previously said in my reviews. Thank you. JON

My cousin has been living in memory care since October 2024. At first she wouldn’t leave her room but the staff from the director Alaina, who visits 2-3 times a day , to the aides who take care of her needs made my cousin feel at home. She now doesn’t like staying in her room. She has friends which she hangs with in a daily basis. The staff has been patient and so caring. So happy I chose the Solana!

I don't normally write reviews but after reading some of the negative reviews, I just had to share our personal experiences for my wife's aunt who is in memory care at Solana. She is 95 and has been in the memory care area for a year. My wife is her aunt's primary contact person and she visits her at Solana at least 2x per week and therefore, she has been able to witness often the level of care and attention given to her aunt and to many of the other residents. Personally we have been extremely happy with the care she has been receiving from the caregivers, many of whom are the same caregivers each shift and who treat our aunt almost as if she were a family member. Also, I cannot say enough about the wonderful changes that have been made both regarding the care of the residents and the improvements made to the area since the new supervisor, Alaina, took over that position. She is definitely a hands on supervisor and is always present pitching in and watching over the care and well being of the residents. My wife often had trouble getting into contact and seeing the last supervisor they had at MC but Alaina is always available and present to assist the residents and the families. We are also very pleased that Kyle who is now the MC activities person. He is very good with the residents, organizes activities based on ability levels and encourages them to participate in the activities. We also witnessed him helping the caregivers getting the residents situated at mealtimes. Overall, we are very pleased with our aunt's care at Solana.

I would strongly advise to stay away from this facility. We were initially impressed with the aesthetics, but within a few days of my father moving into the memory care unit, it became clear that the staff and management have little regard for the safety and well being for the residents there. My mother stayed overnight with my Dad while he was recovering from hip surgery (almost two months) and saw first hand how they treated residents. There would be days that my Dad wouldn’t be dressed in the morning and would miss breakfast. If you asked a question or asked for help, the staff would be rude, dismiss it and do nothing. All the caregivers wear ear pods and can be seen lying down on the couches all hours of the day. They usually like to keep the residents in their rooms where they can easily be ignored. Medications aren’t given on time or sometimes not at all. Thank goodness my Mom was there to care for my Dad while he was there. I feel terrible for the other residents there that don’t have an advocate or someone to look out for them. Not surprising, when we told management that we would be leaving, the care got even more non existent. There was no “exit interview” or any inquiry as to why we were leaving.
