The Inn at Bear Trail

We are just 5 days in at the Inn at Bear Trail, and I am already very enthusiastic and hopeful about the experience! From the initial touring of the facility, I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and friendly staff. Every space is so well designed. I really didn't know what to expect, and it is beyond my expectations. I love the aviary connected to the dining room, and the courtyard with several comfortable seating options is beyond tranquil and beautiful. They even have a short walking path that circles the courtyard for those residents who want to get their steps in. The front entrance is welcoming and offers more seating options. I love the pub for Friday happy hours, and I am looking forward to watching a movie with my mother-in-law in the cinema. She is comforted knowing she can go to the chapel for weekly services, and I love that she can have salon services right at the facility also. The one-level building was definitely one of my requirements. Mike Harvey, the sales director, was very instrumental in us making our choice at Bear Trail. His knowledge and compassion really shine. He gave us all the time we needed to tour and answered all our questions; he has been extremely communicative with immediate responses in our phone messaging. I was again impressed with his level of compassion for each resident, addressing them by name and commenting specifically with a personal anecdote. I want someone who listens and understands our needs, and I absolutely get that reassurance from Mike. We have not yet had the opportunity to meet everyone at the facility, but if they are anything like our first impression of Mike and Bear Trail, I know that we will be extremely happy. I guess the true test was this past weekend when we got Mom and had her over to our house. She told us she was ready to go back "home" and she was already planning to visit with a new friend!

I highly recommend The Inn at Bear Trail. I moved my parents here from out of state in early December and have been impressed by the care and kindness of the staff across all fields. The director went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and to make move in day a pleasant experience after a long day of travel. He will frequently check in on my parents to make certain they have everything they need even if it is just assistance with their television. The nursing staff have provided excellent care for both of my parents, especially my father who is diabetic and have promptly communicated any concerns. The activities director will remind my mother of events/activities happening throughout the day which has helped her form relationships with other residents. Both of my parents love the food and the variety of options available and the serving staff will often have their beverage of choice waiting for when they arrive for dinner. Everyone truly has done their part to make this difficult transition in their life a better experience. My father who had resided at the inn at bear trail for a little over a year recently passed away. The care he received while residing in the memory care unit from both the staff at facility and 360 hospice was beyond amazing. Due to my dad’s advanced dementia and physical decline it was too difficult for me to safely take him out of the facility but the facility has several beautiful spaces available that we were able to reserve for private holiday and family gatherings that allowed our family to celebrate in a home like setting. Every though my father required the care and supervision provided on the memory care unit he was still included in all special events at the facility and was provided with opportunities to go out for scenic drives including the Christmas lights at Alum creek with my mother who resides on the assisted living side of the facility. The care provided for my dad extended beyond excellent medical and personal care he needed but more importantly they provided him with a higher quality of life than I thought was even possible and I can’t express how grateful I am for that. I want to give a huge shoutout to Mike Harvey, Chris Runion for everything you do and to all the staff from every department that have been so kind to my dad “Mr. Jimmy” and the emotional support given to my mother during this difficult time.

The staff is incredibly warm, attentive, and truly treats residents like family. They’re always available, compassionate, and go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and cared for. The community itself is beautiful—clean, peaceful, and full of charm. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed for safety and comfort. My mother has not only received excellent care, but has also made genuine connections with both staff and fellow residents. The activities are well-planned and engaging, the meals are delicious, and the overall atmosphere is filled with positivity and respect. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing our loved one is happy, safe, and thriving at The Inn At Bear Trail. Moving my father into specialty care and my mother into assisted living within a week was an overwhelming experience. However, Mike and the entire team at The Inn at Bear Trail made the process so much easier. Their kindness, professionalism, and support were truly invaluable. My siblings and I worked together to make everything happen, and the staff was right there alongside us every step of the way. Having previously experienced a less-than-positive environment at another facility, we were relieved to find such compassionate and attentive care here. The nurses, aides, and entire staff are always kind, supportive, and quick to respond to any situation.
