In September 2025, I had to find a senior care facility to meet my father's complex medical needs to keep him out of the ER! Beginning with the initial interview and tour with the Community Director, Michael Harvey, I knew this would be the place for dad! Michael's warmth and compassion let me know that my dad would be loved and cared for and that his medical needs would be met. I later met the Executive Director, Chris Runion, who was so kind and personable. He went above and beyond to greet me as I entered the facility to check-in with me when I would stop by to visit each week. The director of nursing, Jodie, and activites coordinator, Brooke, and all the staff including nurses and aides, made sure that my father was safe to keep him out of the ER, and engaged in stimulating activities and events! As my father is a retired pastor, I was especially pleased by the weekly chapel service on the premises with Pastor Chris, who became my father's pastor while residing at Bear Trail. If you are looking for a facility for your loved one, I would highly recommend The Inn at Bear Trail as they display such excellence in care and treat each resident as "family!" We recently made the difficult decision to move our mom into memory care. Our family felt that The Inn at Bear Trail would be the ideal community to meet her health needs, provide her with opportunities for social engagement and give her a sense of continuity and belonging. The Community Director, Mike Harvey, was extremely helpful to us with her move, taking care of logistics and getting her settled in her new space. He continues to be very accessible to answer questions, and address any needs. The entire staff are warm and attentive. Their understanding of the intricacies of her condition, and the ability to anticipate and handle any needs with compassion and respect has been both a comfort and reassurance that she is receiving the best care and has made our mom's transition to a new place seamless.

Although we have not been with Bear Trail for very long we have nothing but excellent things to say about not only the facility but the staff as well. Starting with Mike, I reached out via the website on a Saturday afternoon to get information for my mother in law who was at the time in rehab and needing to move to assisted living. Not only did I receive a quick response from Mike he then offered to call me and answer any questions I had within a few mins of first hearing from him. The help and overall support we received from him from the beginning has been outstanding to say the least. The entire staff has been friendly, accommodating and makes you feel like family. As for the mother in law, she has been all smiles since she has been there, from getting her hair and nails done to enjoying meals with fellow residents. The facility is clean and decorated beautifully, on the inside and outside. The activities and events they have is a wide range and residents can surely find something to do and participate in on a daily basis. Moving out of your home and losing some of that independence is hard, but the way Bear Trail treats their residents and family members has surely made this journey easy and enjoyable.

I highly recommend The Inn at Bear Trail. I moved my parents here from out of state in early December and have been impressed by the care and kindness of the staff across all fields. The director went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and to make move in day a pleasant experience after a long day of travel. He will frequently check in on my parents to make certain they have everything they need even if it is just assistance with their television. The nursing staff have provided excellent care for both of my parents, especially my father who is diabetic and have promptly communicated any concerns. The activities director will remind my mother of events/activities happening throughout the day which has helped her form relationships with other residents. Both of my parents love the food and the variety of options available and the serving staff will often have their beverage of choice waiting for when they arrive for dinner. Everyone truly has done their part to make this difficult transition in their life a better experience. My father who had resided at the inn at bear trail for a little over a year recently passed away. The care he received while residing in the memory care unit from both the staff at facility and 360 hospice was beyond amazing. Due to my dad’s advanced dementia and physical decline it was too difficult for me to safely take him out of the facility but the facility has several beautiful spaces available that we were able to reserve for private holiday and family gatherings that allowed our family to celebrate in a home like setting. Every though my father required the care and supervision provided on the memory care unit he was still included in all special events at the facility and was provided with opportunities to go out for scenic drives including the Christmas lights at Alum creek with my mother who resides on the assisted living side of the facility. The care provided for my dad extended beyond excellent medical and personal care he needed but more importantly they provided him with a higher quality of life than I thought was even possible and I can’t express how grateful I am for that. I want to give a huge shoutout to Mike Harvey, Chris Runion for everything you do and to all the staff from every department that have been so kind to my dad “Mr. Jimmy” and the emotional support given to my mother during this difficult time.
