The Fountains at La Cholla Reviews

This review is for the Inn at the Fountains, the assisted living section. A couple of suggestions if you are considering this place: be aware that your rate will increase multiple times per year. Before I took my Mom out, we were facing 5 increases from February to August : an annual rent and care cost increase as well as increases based on care needs (2 per year), then an increase because she went on hospice. Hospice provides all med management and showers, but the facility planned to increase her rate $500/mo ( I was told by management ) for her being on hospice. Also be aware of your loved ones service plan and don't assume that the items that are on it, that you are paying for, are actually being completed. I found that as her needs increased, it became increasingly difficult to get those needs met, even though we were paying for them. And finally, you will get an email several times a year asking you to donate money for a bonus for employees at the end of the year. In all my years as a nurse, we were taught that it is unethical to ask for, expect or accept money from patients or families, but you will get that letter. I feel that I am paying thousands of dollars a month for my loved one's care and the facility can pay bonuses from that. Consider looking at small senior homes as well as big box facilities and ask lots of questions before you decide. In my research, I found that most of the smaller homes raise rates yearly, if at all. There were many good staff at the Inn who truly care, and some who do not, which is true anywhere.

I visit someone weekly and my observation and experience has all been positive. Carol at the front desk ….the first person you will engage with, is a lovely, friendly gal.

My parents just moved into the independent living part of the Fountains. Colleen guided us through the process and everything was so smooth. My parents seem very happy!

I experienced a beautiful and cheerful environment. Fully enjoyed my informational tour of the bustling facility, hosted by Jennifer. Yes, a great place to live! Thanks for asking.
