Several months ago we started looking to move my mother-in-law to another assisted living facility in uptown NOLA. It was a quick search and decision. We found The Carrollton to be a beautiful facility — buildings, grounds and residences. There are plenty of activities and resident services to keep all as busy as they wish. The staff and leadership were very courteous and continue to be easily accessible and open to frequent caregiver updates and suggestions. We see a lot of interaction between leadership and the residents, also. My mother-in-law seems very comfortable in her new environment, which makes us feel we, as a team, made the right decision.

The Carrollton has surpassed our every expectation. After living for seven years in a tiered community, my mother relocated to the Carrollton. The care she is now receiving is personalized and consistently delivered in a very friendly and professional manner by all members of the staff from the director , the dining staff, nursing care, physical therapists and physician. The physical facilities are elegantly comfortable and impeccably maintained. My mother is relaxed in this supportive environment and is enjoying her life more now than before. We couldn't be happier.

My mother was an assisted living resident at The Carrollton for the last two and a half months of her life. I give The Carrollton a five star rating for several reasons. The facility’s physical quality and design are by far the finest of any facility my brother and I toured. The design captures the very essence of New Orleans architecture, culture, and ambiance. The designers paid attention even to the most minute of details; for example, the tile in the main dining area reflects the traditional tile used in the Café du Monde, and the support columns in the main hall are iron posts with ornate capitals just like those supporting balconies in the Vieux Carré. The apartments are contemporary and large with super high ceilings. Those high ceilings and the extra-large windows make the rooms feel even larger. The bathroom are large and are easily accessible for wheelchair bound residents. The walls are freshly painted with ample wall space for plenty family pictures and memorabilia. Most important, the director, Sai Raj Kappari, and staff at the facility are excellent. The director’s mantra is that no employee should use the phrase: “That’s not my job.” His performance on the job embodies that mantra and is a model that all of the staff emulate. I have observed him pushing my mother’s wheelchair as well as assisting other residents as an aide might do. The director is acutely aware of the value of the residents and each staff member employed there. The director knows each employee and resident by full name, and he interacts with each regularly on a very personable level. Additionally, facilities often make promises about the care they give. My brother and I, like others with aging parents, wanted the best care for our mother. The executives promised that when my mother pushed her call button on the facility provided watch, someone would come to her within three minutes. Both my brother and I doubted this, but it turned out to be true. In fact the director was working on a computer generated program that would evidence the times for a staffer to reach a resident. The Carrollton not only “talked the talk,” but they “walked the walk” too. They demonstrated all they promised! I would recommend The Carrollton without reservation for all who desire quality care for their loved elderly family member!
