My parents were at Laketown Village for about 2 months. We were promised in an initial meeting that their care plan would be followed. For my parents, it was bad from the first night on. My mother fell in the bathroom that first night. They were given call buttons to wear around their necks & told that someone would come within 10 minutes any time it was pressed. After she fell, we pressed & waited repeatedly. Finally, my nephew had to walk the halls to find someone to help. The majority of the time it would take at least 20 minutes or so before someone showed up after pressing the call button. Unacceptable! You absolutely need cameras in the apartments!!! My father had been transferred directly from the hospital & he had a pressure wound that needed to be monitored & taken care of. He was supposed to be flipped every 2 hours. This was barely done. There were countless times that either no one came at all during the night or if they did, it was maybe twice at most. I had to text the director & head of nursing almost every day to advise them the plan hadn't been followed the night before. This was always followed with a response that it would be taken care of. It never was. It seemed like they were given their medications at different times based on who was on duty. There were times I had to call the head of nursing to let her know they weren't given their medicines like they were supposed to or not given their medications at all. They tell you that there's a doctor on call at the facility for the residents that comes twice a week. What they don't tell you is that on the days the doctor isn't there, you have to call an answering service & sometimes it would take days of me calling & emailing the doctor to get answers. My parents both had UTI's. They had samples collected twice & it wasn't until the 3rd time that the samples were finally sent to the lab. My father would up having a bad UTI with E. Coli in his urine. He had that infection for at least 2 weeks before he was finally tested & results came back. They were also supposed to have someone come to get them & take them to the 3 meals. I can count on my hands the number of times this was done. In the mornings, someone was supposed to come & wake them up, help them shower, help them get dressed, etc. That was extremely rare. No one would come get them for activities as promised. No one came to collect the laundry to be washed. Because of this lack of assistance, we would up having to hire 24/7 private caregivers to stay with my parents in their apartment & take care of all the things that Laketown had promised would be done. Having to hire private caregivers added a huge extra expense to the already crazy cost of assisted living. There's different levels of care. When my parents first moved in, we were quoted lower levels of care. After that, their levels of care kept creeping up as well as the costs. I cannot stress this enough-DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE MATRIX PRICING!!! We foolishly signed up for & paid the $9000.00 community fee upfront because of all the promises that were made to us & we had to rush into this because of time constraints. It takes off $600.00 from the monthly rent. At the end of the day, it doesn't really help much & it's NON-REFUNDABLE. After we pulled my parents out, they didn't get that money back. That was such a huge waste of money!!! I feel this place is grossly understaffed & the lack of communication between the administrators & caretakers is really bad. If you are not independent, do not trust that you will be taken care of & you will be very disappointed in the lack of responsibility & accountability.

We picked Laketown Village for my brother- in- law after our tour by Cindy Rooney. Cindy is amazing and took the time on her off day to show me Laketown Village. We needed memory care and Laketown Village offerred both assisted living snd memory care. The facility was spotless, beautifully planned out with lots of space and courtyards. Management covered every aspect of the facility to ensure the highest quality of care. They also incorporate methodology based on the science of aging to promote neuroplasticity to improve cognition as well as physical activities to keep their patients strong. Their meal area looks like a fancy restaurant in the assisted living center. In memory care, it feels like you are eating with your family. Each area has tons of staff that are specialist in diverse fields for the geriatric population. As we meandered into the many different areas that were built to support activities to promote brain health and physical strength, Cindy Rooney mentioned that they also have live entertainment 2 to 3 times a week. She reviewed the security system throughout the facility that ensures the safety of the residents. Each day offers a list of activities that assist in keeping residents busy and connected. The staff, especially Cindy Rooney, seem more like family members offerring hugs and love to every resident calling them by their first names and addressing endearing qualities of each. Our family feels very confident after a prolonged search that we found the perfect home for our family member. Thank you Cindy Rooney for taking the time on your day off to give us such an extensive and detailed tour. You are truly an angel. I have been an RN for over 40 years and I sincerely feel that this is the best facility for the elderly I have ever found S. Katner, RN

Laketown Village used to be a wonderful facility filled with compassion and genuine care for its residents. Unfortunately, that atmosphere seems to have changed since Marie Williams became the Executive Director. I strongly believe that state officials and corporate leadership should conduct a more thorough investigation into what may be happening behind the scenes. The leadership displayed by Marie Williams and Charlotte has been, in my experience, rude and unprofessional. Personal feelings appear to override professionalism, which should never happen in a facility responsible for the care and dignity of elderly residents. When staff members advocate for the residents, it seems to be met with resistance, and in some cases individuals are removed from the building for speaking up. It is concerning that Pegasus Senior Living Corporation allows this type of representation within their organization. If Pegasus truly cares about the well-being of their residents, I believe stronger oversight and accountability are necessary to ensure the residents receive the respect, safety, and quality of care they deserve.
