My mother has been living here for more than 6 months at this point so I figured I’d give an honest review of this place. During the initial visit and move in, the staff was super nice and accommodating which was very appreciated because moving can be very stressful. She was promised half off the second month’s rent. Although her apartment was not ready by the date we were told, they placed her in a studio on site temporarily until it was ready almost 3 weeks later. They moved her into her actual apartment which was also a huge help and probably why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. However, they ended up charging her a full months rent the second month and I had to reach out multiple times to get this rectified. They said because of all the variables in her move in, they didn’t think we should get the half off anymore. I wasn’t having that because this was a huge reason we decided for her to move into this place. The place is ok, decent enough apartments. Elevators are HORRIBLE. You’ll end up paying for parking because you had to wait 20+ minutes just to get downstairs. The food is not very good and makes my mom sick sometimes. I’ve even sat with her and had a meal and it’s much like hospital food. They have tried to improve it but they miss the mark regularly and she’s had to take medicine for the stomach issues. My mother has never really had stomach issues in the past with the food she eats so this has been concerning. Today we found out her rent has gone up $100+ more per month. While I understand rent increases everywhere, there needs to be a fair enough improvement to her quality of life here as well. A smaller apartment would only save her $75/month and may not be worth it. Also, food portions are getting smaller but rent is going up. Please make it make sense. I’ve had a few unpleasant conversations with the staff there with them giving snarky comments and attitudes and being a bit fake with me which I don’t appreciate because I’m already not able to be there in person much since I live on a different side of the country. You people are customer service and have the lives of peoples’ loved ones in your hands, please practice a bit more care and consideration when speaking concerned family members. I wouldn’t recommend this place overall to others.

I knew it was going to be a good move when I sold my house the day it went on the market. I used Dawson Relocation services for help with downsizing, packing and unpacking. They were wonderful. Bradtke Movers had the truck loaded in 2 hours and unloaded in about 1.5 hours. By the end of the day, I only had 6 boxes to unpack. The staff at The Breakers were exceptional. Kristin Milton worked very hard to make sure the apartment was ready for me with the requested modifications. She was quite attentive to my every need. Penny Cato checked in frequently on moving day to make sure all was going well and has followed up on requests. The maintenance guys came on a Sunday(!) to fix some problems. The staff at the Concierge Desk have been very helpful in answering my questions and are quite friendly. I could not be more pleased with my move to The Breakers. Update: I have now lived here for a year and have no regrets. I have met so many interesting people and can't begin to participate in all of the activities offered. The food is tasty with a large number of choices. There are some building issues which are being corrected if possible. The elevators are slow at times. Even though the kitchens are small, I have managed to fix meals for 6 people and bake my usual batches of Christmas cookies. And best of all, I have a 6x6 garden space shown here,
