My experience with the Memory Care at Tech Ridge Oaks was not what I expected. Let’s start with the positives. The memory care unit is small, which is one of the main reasons I chose it for my mom. The caregivers are kind and compassionate, and there is a nice walking path for residents. Unfortunately, my overall experience was very disappointing. There were very few activities for the residents, and I found my mom sitting in her bowel movement on three separate occasions. The memory care unit consistently smelled strongly of urine. Communication with staff was virtually nonexistent unless there was an incident—which, unfortunately, there was. My mom developed unexplained bruises on her wrists, and I ultimately removed her from the facility because I was concerned for her safety. The staff did not consistently follow her care plan, and it was a constant struggle to communicate basic information, such as when she should be put to bed and when her medications should be administered. To make matters worse, money was withdrawn from my account without explanation, and no one could tell me why. In my opinion, this facility needs a complete restructuring of its management, communication, and quality of care. Based on my experience, I would not trust them with the care of my loved one.

Had a great visit at Tech Ridge for my mother. Allison Johnson was super attentive and helpful. Really appreciated the tour and her kindness at this difficult time. The apartments were clean and comfortable and I liked all the activities they offer. Doesn’t have that nursing home vibe at all, more like a community.

As a hospice social worker, I love coming to Tech Ridge Oaks because the care they offer each resident can be felt in a physical space that is clean and meticulously well-maintained. The staff interactions are consistently positive and supportive. I would highly recommend Tech Ridge Oaks to anyone who wants a loving community to surround you or your loved ones.

We had an excellent tour with Allison. She was extreamly helpful, knowledgable, and attentive to our upcoming concerns and needs with placement of my Mother. Loved the place and I will feel very comfortable having my Mother become a resident.
