The friend I visited was well cared for and treated kindly. Staff were kind and helpful to me. My friend and her unit appeared clean. Loved the unusual bird cage and happy to see the therapy dog that visits weekly. Nice music for this population.

I wish I could recommend Parmer Woods, but unfortunately I can’t at this time. My mother has lived here for over two years, and while there are positives—the residents are friendly and the staff is responsive—the dining experience has become a serious and ongoing issue. When she first moved in, the food was fine. Over time, however, it has declined significantly. The quality, variety, flavor, and service of meals are consistently disappointing, especially at lunch and dinner. It has gotten so bad that my mother regularly skips those meals altogether. Breakfast is the exception: food is warm, arrives on time, and tastes good—likely because fewer residents are dining then. That contrast makes the problems at other meals even more noticeable. What’s most frustrating is that this isn’t a new or isolated complaint. Residents have repeatedly raised concerns about both the food and dining room service. Management has acknowledged these issues, yet nothing has improved. For a community like this, consistent, quality dining should be a basic expectation. Right now, it’s falling far short.

My father in law died here while sitting on his toilet and they never discovered him. It was his own family that wondered why they had not heard from him and finally came over and went in the room to discover him. When confronted about it they gave some ridiculous answer like they were respecting people's privacy. But are you serious? You're an assisted living home and he was on extra care assistance level. He needed you and you just let him rot in there. Do not let your family members live here if you actually want someone to check on them. Don't let them fool you into paying for extra care because your family member won't be getting it. Edit: I am not interested in your generic kiss off response. If you want to deal with the situation call the facility where it happened and deal with them.

We are thrilled with Mom's move to Parmer Woods! Having just moved her from out of state, our experience at her first community was less than desirable. Parmer Woods is exactly what I was looking for. She has done more in her first 9 days than 2 1/2 months at her previous community. The residents have been very welcoming and the staff is very kind and caring. I would highly recommend moving your loved ones here.
