Stone Oak is a beautiful, resort like independent living facility. From the employees to the managers, everyone was so kind and helpful to my Mom. It’s very clean with excellent food, activities, a garden, library and work out room along with a little store and salon. I met so many wonderful residents while my Mom was there and everyone was so friendly! I highly recommend Stone Oak for independent living! It’s a caring and supportive place for your loved one!

My family made plans for a family get-together while I had a week off from work. I had planned on getting a hotel room when my nephew suggested staying at Stone Oak Retirement Community in a Guest Suite. This thought had never occurred to me as we reserved it right away. My 90 year old brother had recently moved in and this was an ideal way for me to experience his new life. I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH EVERYTHING!!! The facility was amazing. Something was going on around every corner it seemed. The theater was so comfortable with movies and events scheduled. Arts and Crafts all over the place. Bingo, exercise room, library, and the list goes on!!!! The facility was emaculate! In fact several workers were cleaning while my brother took me on our tour. My Suite was unbelievably comfortable!! Completely stocked with anything I needed including snacks, water bottles and a kuerig coffee machine with plenty of coffee pods. Breakfast in the morning was tasty and freshly made. Another guest joined us at our table and that conversation was life changing for me. Again, the cleanliness of the dining area would score 100 on a health inspection. I say that after I spent 47 years in the restaurant industry and know what it takes. When I was driving home I thought to myself that I shouldn’t have been surprised that the staff and residents all were so happy at this Stone Oak Community…. Because the leadership folks defined clearly how flawless operations are the standard. Impressive!!!! My brother had fought the idea of moving after his wife died. But now he is so happy he did. Last thing I did was inquire about a group rate or family discount!! Ok that’s my tremendous sense of humor….but maybe not? Bob Henry

Our sister moved to Stone Oak a few months ago due to a disability. We found the managers and staff so welcoming and friendly, she knew right away that she had found her new home. They proceeded to help with all phases of her adjustment, and are there to help when the family can't. She has a group of friends now, and activities she loves, while still enjoying the privacy of her own apartment, the perfect balance between independence and assistance. Even her diet has greatly improved and transportation provided when she needs it. Our whole family is grateful she is safe and happy.

Stone Oak Retirement Community has consistently been a win–win for my mom and our family since we moved her there in August, 2020 soon after my dad passed. She has been thriving and “blossoming” ever since! Mom has taken full advantage of and deeply enjoys participating in the large number of activities offered. Under the leadership of Liz, Activities Director, she has learned to paint and crochet and has become quite accomplished at both. She has made 29 plastic mats for the homeless (4 ft. x 7 ft.) using recycling trash bags. Mom has participated in chair dancing, learned how to play pool (billiards), but most of all, she loves the friendship, the camaradery and the competition with fellow Stone Oak residents! She plays her many different games (which include Mahjong, Bingo, Mexican Train, and Rummikub!). Having the general managers living on the premise, round-trip transportation service, beauty salon and Physical Therapy on-site are added peace of mind for her children. I feel that Stone Oak management encourages independent residents by allowing residents to create their own community through shared interests. The Stone Oak General Store is created and managed strictly by the residents (mostly in their late 80 and 90 years of age) to provide funds for their own garden community, which is an amazing concept - aside from the fact that it carries miscellaneous specific supplies to meet needs of the residents. The store also sells and recycles old, used and unused items from the residents and families to the residents. These seniors, impressively, utilize their entrepreneur leadership talents and team work to make and save money, importantly reduce waste through recycling! Mom enjoys all the benefits ranging from 3 meals per day, to various snacks available at all times (examples- soft-serve ice cream, other dairy products, fruits, etc.); her spotless, roomy, beautiful, and quiet apartment is cleaned once a week by mom‘s favorite housekeeper, Theresa; the incredible Stone Oak Restaurant staff who are always so friendly, pleasant, respectful, and consistently demonstrate a hard work ethic without equal, including but not limited to the Managers Heather and David, Chef Rodney, all Front Desk Concierges especially Melissa, and the Activities Director Liz. We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the wonderful travel programs offered to the residents! Mom was able to travel to other “sister” RLC (Resort Lifestyle Communities) facilities in different states to visit family and friends. She was able to stay in a beautiful apartment - an almost replica of her apartment - eating 3 meals a day and participating in all activities offered without additional charge. We cannot say enough how happy we are with Stone Oak! This facility offers Quality aging for our mom!!!!
