We visited Verena without an appointment and the staff welcomed us and gave us a full tour. We loved all the apartment models and the rest of the facilities were outstanding. Everything is so clean and it's like being in a 1st class hotel. The amenities are top rate and they even have cottages for those who want that lifestyle. Everyone was so friendly and the costs are very reasonable compared to other facilities in the area. I am excited about the prospect of living at Verena when our current apartment lease is up.

We moved my mother into one of the cottages this winter and it soon became clear they are not very educated or empathetic about the population they work with. She did not have a working garage door opener for over a month and the management was pretty blase about this, offering excuses about system updates. Meanwhile, my 81-year-old mother is getting out of her car in a blizzard to open and close her garage door. Then I found out she was bathing in her sink because it took them over a month to install a safety bar in her shower and she was afraid of falling. Why wouldn't every shower in a senior living community have these already installed? The people who answer the phones never seem to know what is going on. It's almost like you're getting someone at a call center who has no knowledge of the community itself. They offer haircuts once a week, but my mother cannot even get someone to call her back about making an appointment to do so. Very disappointed. The only positive is the chef who is caring and makes wonderful food.

Verena has been great for my mother in law. She has lived there for over 3 years and loves it. There is great community and activities, the building is beautiful, the price is fair considering that it includes a lot, and she loves that there is direct indoor access to the Hilliard library. But the main reason I wanted to write this review is because of Verena's amazing Chef Jason. The food is Michelin star quality! Jason goes above and beyond everyday, and especially for the holidays buffets that have become a tradition for our family! His creativity and the vast menu choices are very impressive. He is also very friendly and kind, and even remembers our family and our special dietary needs when we join Nana for lunch or dinner. Thanks Jason for sharing your amazing talent with us!

We feel so lucky to have found the Verena for our Mom. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. The building is so beautiful and it’s connected to the Hilliard library, which is an amazing amenity!! There are events everyday for the residents, many of which my husband and I wish we could attend!!! The best part, though, is Chef Jason. He is the game changer!! He has a wonderful menu, the food is ALWAYS spectacular and he truly cares. I don’t know that he ever takes a day off, he is so committed to a wonderful dining experience. We hope he stays with the Verena for many years, he really makes the living experience top notch for our mom.thanks to the Verena and Jason for all they do!
