Great Experience for my wife she spent 14 days for rehab after a hospitalization. Kenisha, Robin, Dee and others nurses were nice and efficient. Donte from the kitchen was great along with Lula. Elizabeth, Christian, Saniqua, and Cathy great staff. And of course Social Worker Stacie was fantastic always was able to answer questions and follow through on requests. Great attitude and attention to detail in her work. I was disappointed with one individual who I approached several times with questions she stated she was very busy and and she “ all these different duties “ she told me to talk to her when she was at her desk however when I did she was talking with others at her desk and I asked her politely can I talk and once again she stated “ maybe tomorrow “ . But overall very good experience for my wife. Also I want to add the Rehab staff were fantastic PT and OT thumbs up great service and was very significant in my wife’s recovery great work.

I am writing this review to document serious concerns regarding patient safety, medication management, and communication during my father’s brief 24-hour stay at this facility. Upon admission at approximately 3:30 PM, there were immediate issues with medication administration. Also, I later found out that his medication list was incomplete and failed to include critical cardiac medications. Despite being on time-sensitive medications, he did not receive any medications until approximately 10:00 AM the following morning (and this didn’t even include all of his necessary medications)—representing a significant delay of roughly 16–18 hours after arrival. For a medically complex, post-surgical patient, this is highly concerning and not consistent with appropriate standard of care. There were also ongoing issues with reaching staff. Phone calls frequently went unanswered, with long periods of ringing and no response, making it extremely difficult to obtain basic information or timely assistance. Without a doubt, there is inadequate staffing levels for their patient acuity which, in turn, directly impacts patient safety and quality of care. In addition, there were serious safety concerns related to fall prevention. I personally observed a wheelchair left unlocked while my father was seated in it at the dining table and immediately corrected it. Unfortunately, later that evening, the same safety issue occurred again with another staff member failing to lock my father’s wheelchair resulting in my father falling backwards and hitting his head. Following this fall, I was never contacted by the facility that this accident occurred!! Instead, I learned about the incident indirectly when my father called me approximately an hour later to tell me that he needed his insurance information because they wanted to take an x-ray because he fell backwards and hit his head. This is especially alarming given that my father is on blood thinners and had recently undergone major cervical spine surgery. A head injury and/or further damage to his cervical spine needed to be immediately evaluated!! The lack of immediate medical attention and family notification incredibly negligent. I immediately instructed that he be sent to the hospital for evaluation. Overall, within a single 24-hour period, there were multiple and serious breakdowns in care involving medication management, fall prevention, communication, and post-incident reporting. These are not minor issues—they represent fundamental patient safety concerns that should be addressed urgently.

Novi Lakes is a very nice and clean place! The food is great and the staff are always so helpful. If you have a loved one needing rehab services or even assisted living I highly recommend this place. They have a great therapy team and you can always count on seeing familiar faces in both parts of the campus.

My grandmother came home the same way she went in PT definitely tried their hardest Scott was the sweetest myself and my family did 99% of caring for my grandmother while she was in this facility we could not leave her alone for very long because if she needed something the staff would either take forever to assist or turned the light off and said they would be back and never went back. This review is not the end of making it known and I know that all facilities are horrible but I’ll be the one to stand up for our loved ones not even just mine for all and make a change for all the ones that are in need of care
