North Shore Place

I had the pleasure of working closely with the team at North Shore Place, as well as helping several clients find their new forever home there. They do a great job with providing guidance, support, and resources for their residents and their families. Their community is also absolutely beautiful! You’ll find more space here than most places in the North Shore. It’s the most Independent-Living-feeling assisted living community you’ll find in the area! Absolutely love this community.

I wanted to recommend North Shore Place as a very friendly and professionally run senior residence, from my perspective as an entertainer there for numerous years. Physically, the residence is gorgeous - the foyer has lots of beautuful wood paneling, marble flooring, open / uncluttered / easily accessible space, always with a large vase full of fresh flowers in the middle. There is a cocktail lounge / bar section of the foyer, just to the right as you walk in. There has always been folks sitting in there, doing sing-alongs conducted by the Activity staff members, when I arrive for to provide my live musical performance. The airy, open dining room is beautiful, with fine dining settings complete with fresh linens - it just looks like a lovely, fine dining establishment you'd go out to with friends. It has a Maitre d’ station at its entrance, manned with friendly staff, welcoming residents in for their meal. Very nice / classy 😊 I have seen beautiful buffet tables with sterling silver chafing dishes set up for Mothers' Day & Fathers' Day holiday festivities, in the large living room next to the dining room. I usually perform in the large living room area - a very large but comfortably furnished space. It has a very intimate feel to it. I have also performed in a lovely, airy activity / multimedia entertainment space on the second floor. Also very nice. The Life Enrichment Director, Tyler, has been a breeze to work with and for. Always extremely pleasant, positive and welcoming. He always responds promptly when I've reached out to him through email or telephone. If he's not involved with an event, he makes a point of coming to say hello to me and to see if there's anything I need before my performance begins. I've never experienced one problem or issue with any one of my bookings or events... it's been as smooth as silk 😊😊 Tyler's activity staff person, Nelson, is a delight 😊 ALWAYS at every event I do, attending to any need of any resident or myself. Every event has gone off without a hitch. He often is doing karaoke with the residents when I arrive there. They all seem to love it and love singing along. It's a very nice vibe 😊 There are also numerous activity staff members working with Nelson, also attending to the residents & me, at all my shows, which I really appreciate. They also do karaoke with the residents, with everyone smiling & laughing, just having fun. It's very nice 😊 The residents love singing so I try to do as many songs as possible that they're familiar with. It IS a lot of fun 😁

Look, I perform at hundreds of senior communities, and North Shore Place is creme de la creme. It's immaculate, but it looks and feels like a homey resort, not like an institution. I notice the little things that the staff does for the residents, always respectful, never condescending. Looking at their activity calendar, it feels like these folks live inside a cruise ship. Getting old can be depressing, but North Shore Place makes it as fun and stimulating as possible. My contact there is Tyler Carlborg, the director of resident programming. He always treats me like a rock star when I go to North Shore Place. Once I arrived there to do a performance, and I discovered that I'd accidentally left all of my equipment at my previous gig in Hyde Park! Tyler was so sympathetic, and he rescheduled me. I'm eternally grateful. I won't be able to afford to live there. I tell the seniors I invested in TV dinners, and all my assets are frozen. But if I win the little lotto, guess who's moving in?
