If you have a family member that has Alzheimer's/dementia, DO NOT place them in New Perspectives. New Perspectives is a beautiful facility and all their staff is nice on the surface, but the truth is they are all a bunch of liars. They will tell you what you want to hear with a smile on their face and then they turn around and do absolutely nothing that they promise. None of the staff is trained to know how to care for dementia patients. My mother who has Alzheimer's, spent six miserable weeks in their facility and ended up in the hospital for a month before we found a new place for her to live. New Perspectives was so neglectful of her needs and usually just called me or my sisters to come and calm my mom down because they didn't know how to do it themselves. They rarely gave her her medication. They rarely made sure to clean her. Her room was always a disaster and had old food and dishes everywhere. There was broken glass on her floor multiple times. She soiled the bed and it took them over a week to get us new sheets. I ended up having to buy all new bedding to replace the ones that were soiled. One of the staff members even pushed my mom to the ground and when I would address all these issues throughout those 6 weeks, with the staff members, they always told me, "We'll take care of it. We're on it. We'll escalate this to the management". None of that ever happened. They would tell me they were going to take care of an issue and I would come back the next day and nothing was ever correced. Nothing was handled. These people will lie to your faith with smiles so that you think that they're good people, but they're not. Ultimately all they want is your money. Their Choice options program is a complete joke and a scam. It is just to get you to give them as much money up front and when things go south they won't return that money. When we demanded that they give us back that Choice options money, they've only given us back a portion of it. After my mom moved out, they've since have tried to charge us another months rent. New Perspectives kept $20,000 of my mother's money, for what? Never once did they do their damn job. She occupied their room for a total of 10 weeks, but only spent six of those weeks in their facility and yet they somehow think that they have claim to $20,000. It is unbelievable. Do not place your trust in this facility. Do not give them your money.

Back in Oct 2024, we moved our loved one in to the memory care part of this facility. From DAY ONE we had problems. Around 1a we got a call to either come in and calm them down or they were going to call the POLICE. We came in and WE took care of them. We left around 3a and no one was in sight to let us out. We were told there would be 3 staff members in the memory care part of the wing at all times. We walk around and the only person we found 'on the job's' was sleeping. Our loved one ONLY stayed in NP for 6 weeks. Every other day there was a phone call or problem. We called them because we saw problems and had concerns. They would listen but nothing ever got done. One of their staff pushed our loved one (they were fine) but nothing was done to that staff person. Then in the beginning of Dec they called us and said they were sending our loved one to hospital (basically they didn't want to put up with them any more). They truly only want to work people who are walking zombies. Our loved was in the hospital for 4 weeks, the 1st week she had a UTI infection, 2nd week they changed her meds, then we played the waiting game, the hospital or is would call NP and they would not return the phone called so our loved one just sat in the hospital waiting. We did get told right when she was going in the hospital that NP might NOT be the place for our loved one. (We were unclear if we needed to find a new place or they were kicking them out) Communication is NOT their strong suit. We got feed up and looked for another place to put our loved one. They completely miss treated our loved one. Lied to us. So many more things happen there. And now they are STEALING from our loved one. We put down a HUGE deposit and they are trying to keep $10,000 of it. They charged us for the month our loved one was in the hospital. We want that money back too. We put down a $500 deposit to hold the room that was never deducted from the 1st months rent. I'm really hoping that NP does some inner soul searching, hire a new team, drop the memory care part of their facility, learn to do better with communication. AND makes us whole again with the money they have stolen from us. Take EXTREME caution when looking into this place for your loved one.

UPDATE: 10/22/2024 After reaching out to New Perspective for additional information and to engage in a dialog about my review, I have received no response. This again shows a lack of engagement at all levels of the organization. More interested in trying to save face than have a real discussion. While New Perspective - Waukesha looks nice on the surface, if your loved ones need assistance from the staff, you will find that the help is non existent. Behind policies designed to limit the assistance provided, no accountability from management to fix problems, issues being identified and never corrected after months of being told they are on it, food options that are laughable at best and a medicine management program that is laughable at best and potentially deadly at worst. I can't count the number of times I discovered pills on the floor of my loved ones unit, that clearly were not taken, but the more concerning part is finding pills that they do not take on the floor, and no one able to answer why there are unknown pills in the unit at all. The upfront buy-in is such a racket as well. The value proposition looks good on paper, but in the end, when you demand they live up to the contract that is signed, it falls on deaf ears. After 5 short months, we moved our loved ones out of the nightmare of New Perspective in order to protect them from the lack of management accountability of the Executive Director and the Health and Wellness Director. Buyer beware with these people. They are more interested in getting paid than caring for your loved ones. As evidenced by wanting to charge us more to deliver the base contract that was already signed.

I have had several family members in senior living at all different levels. We recently moved my mother-in-law into memory care at New Perspective. I meticulously interviewed the Director on down as I know exactly what I wanted. Good Senior living is not just a fancy looking building, more importantly it is the staff and quality care. This is hands down the best senior care facility I have ever seen. The staff is incredible. In these times of difficult hiring and just finding staff, this is a well trained, truly caring team. I am a CEO with experience of running companies of over a thousand employees. I know how difficult it is getting a great team together in good times, they have mastered it in difficult times. My compliments to the Director and his team as I could not ask for anything more.
