What a great place to live. Morning Star is only a year old and it has just about everything for senior living. Once a month they are celebrating birthdays with the Flutter Bums Band. They have assisted and independent living here with many activities and a very friendly staff.

I'd look at Legacy House of Southern Hills, Revel and/or Red Rock Pointe before choosing where to live. These places are about $1,500 to $2,000 per month less and comparable, if not better. I understand the non-refundable deposit at MorningStar is $15,000 which seems exorbitant to me. Most others seem to be around $5000. The food is pretty good. The amount of time required to wait for your meals to be served can exceed 30 minutes in many cases. Lillie, the exexcutive chef, is good but I think she has an understaffed kitchen and I'm not sure if the facility plans to allow Lillie to add additional staff. My sister arranged to have my mom transported to a critical medical appointment. When the time came to take my mom to the appointment, someone told my mom they could NOT take her because the shuttle was TOO full. They didn't even offer to arrange an Uber ride for her to the appointment. Totally unacceptable. Additionally, there have been several instances where we have called and left messages and no one even bothered to call back. The following employees have tried to be helpful: Paul, the executive director, but he's hard to get a hold of and I think his hands are tied by what corporate chooses to do. Susan and Chasity at the front desk. Ty, Gail and most of the servers. Michael in maintenance. Marlena and her assistant in activities. The apartments are nice but many of the residents have to wait 10 minutes or so for the water to get hot enough to take a shower. That is not only a colossal waste of water but it's also a big inconvenience.

While the building’s aesthetic is impressive, I was even more impressed by the hospitality and positivity I experienced on my visit. The sales team are very knowledgeable and are great advocates for seniors and their families!

My Mom is starting to make friends. She enjoys the activities, and the food prepared by Chef Lillie is outstanding! She's finally gaining weight.
