If you are looking for a place that will go above and beyond to make your parent feel settled, The Ackerly at Timberland should be their home! Karla Sanuga truly feels like she has been on this journey as the “third” Holcomb child! She is as concerned with my parents well being as we are! All of her guidance is with love, expertise, and compassion. The Ackerly has given us peace of mind that our parents are safe, happy, and treated with dignity! Brett Simmons is the manager of the assisted living floor- he has been a wealth of knowledge in this transition. Brett listens to our needs and has the staff to assure that they are all met! Lastly, the front desk staff is warm and welcoming! They make everyone in the community feel special! We are excited for the new chef! I have heard great things! Thank you Ackerly for making my parents new place feel like home!

Seems like a decent place when you need to have a family member leave their home. But!! No parking anywhere near for visitors.

My Mother became a resident at the Ackerly Jan 2023, she was in the independent apartment. We were relieved to know that they were to check in daily with a buzzer as I am out of state and my brother works full time. I called my Mother daily at 1.15 daily . I last spoke to her on the Sunday afternoon, I called her Monday with no answer , I was a bit concerned but figured that she had checked in . When I called Tuesday with no answer I immediately called the front and asked when they had heard from my Mum and they admitted it was Sunday morning . I asked them to go check on her, the paramedics found her unresponsive with a broken hip. She was taken to the ICU , underwent surgery and had to go into a nursing home. Unfortunately she didn’t survive more than a month . When I had calmed down enough called the Ackerly to ask what had happened and why no one had touched base with my Mother for two days and they admitted it was due to having a new desk clerk and lack of communication. I still can’t get the thought out of my mind that my Mum who did go down and eat at least once a day, laid on the floor with a broken hip,for two days . While Mum was alive she did like the food but did say they had a huge turn over in employment.

The Ackerly at Timberland has given my mom the warmth and love that I desired for her. Along with the need to handle the problems of her extreme Celiac Disease. The Ackerly at Timberland took that challenge and has kept her fed with wonderful gluten free meals. She moved into Assisted Living in January, 2017, then transitioned to Memory Care in June, 2018. She receives the attention and care that has contributed to her good health and enabling her to reach the age of 97. Our family is extremely grateful for the Ackerly staff in giving her a wonderful quality of life. Thank you to everyone who come to work each day in keeping my mom cared for, and safe, especially now! A happy window visit!
