This community is beautiful. As a guest who visits often, I truly appreciate all the help from the staff. They are wonderful with the residents and create a magical environment. The residents are happy and constantly express how much they love living here. I would gladly give more stars if I could!

Look elsewhere if you desire to see your loved one well nourished! At a time in life when nutrition and fresh produce and fruits and meals should be paramount, The Legend of Colorado Springs dismisses the repeated requests of family to address this problem. This serious concern has been brought to the CEO Matt Buchanan with no tangible results. I urge you to look elsewhere for your loved one if you want them to be able to enjoy their meals. While the facility is nice and the staff caring, the lack of any attention to the food is deplorable. I asked the CEO of The Legend Matt Buchanan to come and share some meals on site as no one would want to feed their loved ones mostly frozen foods. It’s nice that they take the time to respond to the reviews, but it would be better if the focus would be on actually correcting the problem with the lack of nutritious delicious fresh food for those we love.

To those of you looking into a place for your loved ones, do so cautiously. I am only commenting on the Memory Care portion of Legend. The care staff in Memory Care is wonderful. I will not say anything bad about them as they do the very best that they can with what they have. However the the leadership more so the Director leaves much to be desired. When we signed up my dad to stay with them in Memory Care the Director gave me his business card and said to call him if we had any questions or concerns. I have reached out to the Director via email and left a voicemail with no call back to date! The residents of Memory Care do not get the same treatment that I see in the Assisted Care. It feels and seems as though the Memory Care residents are treated second rate. With the cost of what Memory Care is that is something that should NOT be allowed! The food that the Memory Care residents receive comes out cold, and in most cases wrong from what they ordered and is bland to say the least. There was a game that was taken from the Memory Care and given to another floor assuming it was for the Assisted Living residents. Such a shame! One instance that stands out is my dad ran out of clean sheets and pant bottoms, the staff told my mom that they would not get to them until the next day! What kind of service is that! We pay over $8,000 per month and this is unacceptable! My mom and I met with Erin who handles health care at Legend on a Tuesday to address some concerns and she came up with a plan to help. An example was food, Thursday of the same week my dad had no food at lunch and my mom asked where his grilled cheese sandwich was and the staff said it did not come from the kitchen but that they would get him one. Later my mom asked the staff what happened and the staff said that nothing was noted about any changes from Erin. What a lack of communication! The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing!! My mom was told multiple times that Legend is responsible for helping my dad and that she should be able to be a wife and not a care giver. She has to find help to assist my dad for bathroom needs. This is not her responsibility! Legend needs to step things up!! With poor management and direction failure is going to happen!! I have the utmost respect for the care givers in Memory Care. However that said some things they too need improvement on but that comes from Management and the Director. SO I would advise anyone interested in Legend to be very alert and not put up with anything!! Money spent for care is not being justified!

From start to finish, the staff at Legend of Colorado Springs were so helpful and kind! The community is beautiful and is perfect for my mother's needs.
