Caring for my husband with advanced dementia just got to be too much for me to do on my own. I soon got to appreciate Kingston at Dupont being a “home to home” transfer (whenever I went to see my husband it was like going to his “home” now, not an institution). It was always a comfortable, relaxing environment. Residents were kept busy with daily activities which I noticed involved mind and physical exercises in an entertaining manner. In short, the residents were not just sequestered in their rooms. They were out in the “gathering space” befriending each. The staff were exceptional. Even though they have to do some unpleasant care taking, that did not affect the way they treated each resident. They remained patient, kind and caring, definitely dedicated to the role of caretaker..

This team of individuals went above and boyond the care we had hoped for for our father and husband. Over the past several weeks, he had been declining, constantly changing our needs and requirements. I had only wished we had this facility lined up months ago and I'm sure he would have loved this facility and made it a home. However, we believe he had an issue prior to transfer and upon that transfer we, as a family, had to make the decision to go straight to comfort meds. The facility here gave me, my mom and sister the support, the distance and understanding that is in these times that can be inevitable... They fed us, they kept their distance in our presence and cared for dad during our absence. I couldn't recommend this team more. Between them and Heartland Hospice (as well as the other half Home Health) we feel comfortable that they helped guide us in the right decisions to care and direct my dad's wishes.

I am so grateful for the skilled and compassionate care you provided for my husband, Ed Chambers, during his 14 months at Kingston. Ed felt comfortable and content from the very first day there, and we were kept informed and welcomed like family. The food is great, activities were unique and stimulating, and the outdoor spaces were enjoyable. We appreciate how hard the entire staff works to create such a warm and caring environment for both residents and families. You were a source of strength during his transition.

The Kingston environment, people, quality of care, and the food are excellent! The residents aren't limited to a memory "hall", they can go through the entire building and feel like they are part of a Community. Activities are daily, all day. The staff and those who come in to participate, like the musicians, genuinely care about the residents. I always feel that I can contact staff and ask anything, and they're ready to help. I've been so grateful for Kingston's help and their willingness to accommodate our needs.
