I am writing to express my concerns regarding a CNA named Andrea who works on the 400 Hall. During my mother’s stay, I observed behavior that I found unprofessional, discourteous, and lacking in compassion. Andrea’s demeanor toward residents and family members came across as rude and dismissive, which created an uncomfortable environment. Most concerning was an incident in which my mother was not offered a glass of water despite clearly needing assistance. Basic care, comfort, and attentiveness are essential responsibilities in a nursing home setting, and I was disappointed by the apparent lack of concern shown. Residents deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, kindness, and compassion at all times. The interaction I witnessed did not reflect the level of care and professionalism that families expect when entrusting their loved ones to a nursing facility. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and addressed to help ensure that all residents receive the attentive and respectful care they deserve.

As a registered nurse I can't begin to list the ways this facility failed in the most basic of patient needs. Starting with the inappropriate admission for rehab of an 80 year old woman with stage four cancer and clear signs and symptoms of advancing Alzheimer's, we were all left wondering 'what is there you think can be rehabilitated?" It should not have taken three hours to get my mother-in-law Tylenol for pain, another three hours for a change when soiled, nor taken three days to discharge to hospice after explicit requests to do so. Medicare rules are that patients/families have the right to choose and direct their own care. This facility, even after being provided with a copy of a living will, repeatedly disregarded communication regarding goals of care & was not timely in any responses to concerns or questions. The place left me with the distinct impression they were milking Medicare funding for rehab days rather than prioritizing patient-focused appropriate care.

My loved one was placed in hospice care at Kingston Care Center, and the experience was extremely distressing. Staff were often unresponsive, basic hygiene and comfort needs were neglected, and communication was poor. It felt as though dignity and compassion were missing in every way. I had to even get him water myself I have reported these concerns to the state for investigation. Families deserve to know what to expect when choosing a care facility. I strongly urge others to proceed with caution and closely evaluate care before placing a loved one here.

Some of the night staff are petty if you are focused on keeping your at manageable levels. It took almost an hour to get my pain meds which was already overdue. This review was posted haste. What happened to me was a mess up in communication. Since then I have come to realize it was an isolated incident. The staff here is really top notch, from the nursing staff right on to the therapists. The food is good and healthy. Therefore I formally recind the one star rating and give the facility a five star rating. I only hope the staff here can forgive a cantankerous old man's ravings.
