I want to say that Cortez who works at Inspir is my friend! He is wonderful. He always likes to help. Make sure you keep him here for a long time. I have been living here for 6 months and I like it here. The food is good. It use to be a hotel and it is very nice here. The medical attention is great as well. Yale is so good with helping me with medical situations.

My husband & I have been exploring senior living options that can accommodate our varied needs. When we entered Inspir Embassy Row, we felt almost immediately that we had found our new home. The facility itself is beautiful, maintaining all of the luxurious & charming features of the former Fairfax Hotel (Its previous incarnation) -- terrifically located at DuPont Circle in downtown DC. More importantly, however, we were WOWed by the staff we met -- especially Laurie Thomas. Laurie took the time to get to know us & to explore what my husband & I needed as well as wanted from a senior living community. She assured us that Inspir is equipped to address our differing individual requirements as well as our requirements as a couple. She worked hard to identify & prepare the perfect apartment for us, overseeing the work that needed to be completed before we move in. Warm, skilled, knowledgeable, responsive & deeply empathic, Laurie continuously strives to understand our interests, worries, & our strengths, & to insure that Inspir can understand & address them. Laurie epitomizes the positive energy of every staff member we've met so far -- from housekeepers, to servers in the restaurants (And the food is FABULOUS!), to the medical team, & everyone else we've encountered -- Inspir does indeed inspire its senior residents to live full, safe, healthy lives in stunning surroundings. We can't wait to move in!

As a Hindu, I have always believed that God lives within each person, and this community has reminded me of that every day. At this stage of life, what matters most is not the building or the amenities—it is the kindness of the people around you. I can honestly say that 99% of the staff and residents are compassionate, caring, and genuinely loving. They don’t just do their jobs—they make this place feel like home. Of course, there is the occasional person who is simply okay, but they only make me appreciate the extraordinary kindness of everyone else even more. One experience that stays with me happened around 10:00 one evening. I was on the rooftop attending my spiritual class and didn’t even know the elevator had gone out of service. I was perfectly safe, but the management realized I was upstairs, came to find me, and after my class carefully helped me down the stairs and stayed with me until I was safely back in my room. No one had asked them to do that. They simply cared enough to think ahead. That is just one example of the many quiet acts of kindness I have experienced here. The one ongoing challenge for me is the food. As a lifelong vegetarian, finding appropriate meals can be difficult. It often requires a daily conversation. I truly appreciate that the dining staff keeps trying to accommodate me. Their willingness to listen and help means a great deal, and I hope vegetarian options continue to improve. In Hinduism, we value seva—selfless service—and I see that spirit in so many people here. No community is perfect, but this one is filled with people who genuinely care. After a little over a year here, it is also starting to feel like home in a deeper way—something I am very grateful for. Every day, I feel more settled, more known, and more connected to the people around me. Every evening, I offer a prayer of gratitude—not because everything is perfect, but because I am surrounded by kindness. For that, my heart is full.

My husband and I moved into Inspir Embassy Row from out of town to be closer to family as my husband’s health and wellness needs became less manageable. From the moment we entered the community, we knew we had made the right decision by choosing Inspir for not just his needs, but mine as well. My husband was taken care of by the most professional, caring, confident caretakers and staff. After his recent passing, I am confident at age 75 I can continue to enjoy living independently in such a supportive and stimulating environment where I can the take advantage of such an incredible lifestyle. Forever grateful to be here.
