My family's experience at Grace Point Place in Oak Lawn, Il. was outstanding!!! My mom went into Grace Point after being hospitalized for a fall and was there for about 6 weeks. During this time she received the most excellent care! My dad, her husband of 55 years, was allowed to stay in her private room with her 24/7 if they wished. This facility was always clean and the food was very much to their liking. There were plenty of activities daily. The staff was kind, caring and very efficient. I felt incredibly safe having them there as they were very comfortable and well taken care of. My mom did so well with the physical therapy that she was able to return home even earlier than we expected. We were always greeted warmly and treated well when we visited. They even let me bring my dog there to visit! I can't say enough about Shannon, Stephanie, Jeen and everyone else at Grace Point who was beyond helpful to us! They did everything they could to make a difficult situation easier. I highly recommend Grace Point for anyone in need of an amazing place for their loved one. They truly treated my family as if they were their own.

This place has a lot of good employees who work hard to care for the residents. I have witnessed them come in with their families without pay on the weekend to paint and beautify the place. The Executive Director has many years of experience and always has the residents atop of her priorities. She recognizes and rewards the good employees and in some cases has to exit the bad ones in order to make the place even better. This is one of the good places where management and ownership really do care about the residents and their families.

There are many posts about how well Grace Point Place takes care of it's residents, that's all very true. But, what makes Grace Point a five star facility is what goes on beyond what a visitor sees during their short stay. When my wife left the hospital, she needed physical therapy in order to regain her ability to walk again. I chose Grace Point Place in Oak Lawn. She was there for six weeks and I was allowed to stay with her in our private room. During that time, I observed something that was truly amazing. I'll give you some examples: during the night, a staff member will check each resident periodically to see if they are safely in their bed. At 7AM a staff member will remind each resident that breakfast is served. If the resident does not go to breakfast-breakfast will come to them in their room. Medication is also distributed to each resident by a staff member of the "Wellness Center" whose only function is to make sure each resident gets their correct medication. Another added safety feature I only found out when we left Grace Point and got all the medications my wife did not use, is that each pill or pills are individually wrapped in a plastic sleeve with her name and day of delivery. Medications are not in the same regular pill container like you get from your pharmacy. Medication safety is "over the top" at Grace Point. The meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner are excellent. But if you don't like what's being served, you can choose from the " always available" menu: Cheese Burger, Hot Dog, Turkey Sandwich, Grilled Cheese or Chicken Nuggets. They thought of everything. I have to admit, I did have one complaint at Grace Point. I couldn't get channel 7 on the cable TV and Jim fixed that with a rescan the next morning Grace Point Place is a wonderful facility. A loved one is cared for beyond what a family member is able to do. You can rest assure, Grace Point Place is the best choice you can make.
