Having already visited folks in the acute care, assisted living, and more recently the independent living areas of DRV, I decided it was time for me to think about my own possible future at DRV now (as a 77 y.o. widow) before my need for supported living becomes more pronounced. I'd learned about the many accessible social and wellness activities, the atmosphere, the common areas and the food options, thanks to friends already there. One couple, former neighbors, toured me around the independent living buildings, and I visited their own lovely individualized apartment. Everything I saw was beautiful, well maintained, clean and updated. I made an appointment to discuss my options for independent living at DRV, knowing that there is a waitlist for apartments. Tawnya shared information with me easily and answered my questions completely. I came away with floor plans, pricing information (including a helpful cost comparison worksheet), and a waitlist reservation form. I'm glad I took a friend who asked a few additional questions and helped me review the information later. I am also glad I've started the process now so I'll have time to prepare for and adjust to the idea of moving into senior housing in the future.

Dallas Retirement Village is by far the nicest retirement facility I have seen. My parents started out in the Lodge apartments and lived their lives fully and happily for many years. When the time came, my dad went to Assisted Living and several years later my mom was there as well. It’s not just the facility that makes it special, it’s the people. The employees and the residents live positive, active lives and participate in the numerous activities available. DRV has everything, great dining options, activities, swimming pool, workout room, and can care for your loved ones all the way through end of life. I live in South Carolina and knew my parents were being well cared for, which is very comforting when you are so far away. I have looked for a similar place near me, I have written editorials and spoken to our city and county council in hopes of getting interest in building a place iIke the DRV here. I may have to relocate to Oregon when the time comes.

We really appreciate the time Tawnya spent getting to know us and sharing so much information about the Dallas Retirement Village. We were impressed! It truly is a beautiful place to live with so many amenities to enjoy. We could feel Tawnya's passion for the mission of the facility as well as the underlying community aspect of being a part of the Dallas Retirement Village "family". There truly is a lot to offer!

After living in the same home for 50 years my wife, Robbie, and I started thinking about retirement living. We started looking around at various places and I, like many others I have talked to here at Dallas Retirement Village, was quite skeptical of "Retirement" living. However, after visiting DRV I and We were pleased with the overall facility and the "energy" of those we met here. The activities are almost unlimited and varied. A resident can be as active within or without the facility and ALL of the staff members are friendly and helpful to every resident in all of the various living arrangements. From our perspective DRV has what the other residences lacked----- Freedom of activity, wonderful and interesting residents, wonderful and helpful Staff and a great campus. We even have a garden area where raised beds are available for the gardeners, like my wife in the picture. We are given only 5 stars to check-- we would check 10.
