Curtis Creek Senior Living

My uncle currently lives at Curtis Creek. He was recently re-diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment. One of the side effects of his treatment has been changes to his taste buds, making eating difficult. Because of this, he has repeatedly requested that the pickles and onions on his burger be warmed, as he can no longer tolerate them cold. Unfortunately, although the dining room staff tells him this can be accommodated and takes his order accordingly, his food continues to arrive with the pickles and onions cold. He has become extremely frustrated and discouraged that such a simple request continues to be ignored. Our family doesn’t understand why such a reasonable accommodation cannot be made to help improve his quality of life during an already difficult time. Residents pay a significant amount to live at Curtis Creek, and we frequently see social media posts showcasing what appears to be an exceptional dining experience. It is hard to understand why a request that would take less than a minute cannot be consistently honored. My uncle is not someone who asks for much. He simply wants to enjoy a meal despite the challenges his cancer treatment has created. Meanwhile, it seems that other residents’ requests are routinely accommodated. People talk in the dining room, and it has left us wondering why he does not receive the same level of care and attention. We believe the dining program and its approach to meeting residents’ individual needs should be reevaluated. If I made this same request at virtually any restaurant, it would be accommodated without hesitation. Likewise, if I asked for my coffee to be warmed up or refilled, it would be done. Curtis Creek’s policy of not providing coffee refills is also disappointing. Given what residents and their families pay, these basic requests should be considered standard customer service. Our family simply wants my uncle to be treated with dignity and compassion. Small accommodations can make a tremendous difference in the life of someone battling cancer.

We recently provided a building wash, gutter cleaning, and window cleaning for Curtis Creek Senior Living, and I have to say — it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Every staff member we interacted with, from admin to maintenance, was incredibly kind, respectful, and helpful. It’s clear they care deeply about their residents and take pride in maintaining a welcoming and clean environment. This is a wonderful Apartment Complex for Seniors; staff are friendly and welcoming. The residents eagerly welcomed my Mom into activities. It’s really what she needed.

I went to Curtis Creek recently and was genuinely blown away by the renovations. The community is absolutely beautiful, warm and welcoming. The staff was friendly and clearly invested in creating a great environment. Adam, their Executive Director is an impressive leader and really set the tone for the whole community.
