My mom lives at Creekside at Shallowford and loves it. They have a lot of fun activities for the seniors. The location is perfect for quick trips for personal supplies. I have eaten several resident meals while visiting her there and sincerely believe the food was very good overall given that they have to be careful about dietary restrictions of the residents. The grounds are quite lovely - and my mom has a beautiful view of the back area with trees and a lovely gazebo. They allowed her to screen in her balcony so that her cat can go outside without fear of her jumping over the rail and getting loose. I have found all of the staff to be very friendly and personable. As far as the complaints in other reviews about the bugs - that only occurred with some ants for a couple of weeks during some renovations in which they disturbed several large ant colonies outside. Someone else made the allegation about having them running out of food and having to order in - to be clear they have ordered outside food on special occasions and on some holidays to let the kitchen staff have the day off which I find impressive. My mom loves it when they order out food - particularly when they do a BBQ. My sister and I looked at several retirement communities in Chattanooga, and Creekside at Shallowford is by far and away the best for such a reasonable price.

EVERYONE in the staff have been SO very helpful and courteous and genuinely caring for Peggy and myself. We have been so impressed. The meals have been excellent with lots of selections. The facilities are in excellent condition, they seem to have thought of everything. All of the residents that we have met at mealtimes are also in agreement concerning the staff, and I mean ALL of the staff

LOOK ELSEWHERE! Place looks nice at first, but trust this a falsity. Some staff are decent people, but majority of upper management has always been an issue at this facility. Many residents can tell you how they’ve been mistreated while living here, if you do come and visit, make sure to get 1 on 1 interactions with majority of staff/residents to get a true impression. Management will try and show you the “best” and will ignore negatives any staff or residents make them aware to. The building is disgusting, doesn’t matter how much they dust, paint, decorate or clean it. The building itself is bug infested and falling apart. The food is low quality and low budget, I’ve heard of many times where they had to “order out” because they ran out of supplies to feed anyone. I’d never let a family member of mine stay here, and feel sorry for the residents who currently do.

Loved it at first! The grounds were pretty nice place to walk for my mama . Then auto drafts for rent hit and the mgr and assistant disappeared with no notice!! Now my mom wants to move
