Castle Pointe at Baywinde

I wish my mother would move out of Baywinde. I think the staff who work in dining and house cleaning do their best to take good care of the residents there. But I have no confidence that the leadership of the facility cares about the residents or their concerns. While living at Baywinde there have been several incidents of Baywinde staff entering my mother's residence while she has been out and without her permission. In the one incident, the staff member who entered broke one of my mother's possessions. They tried to replace it with a similar item thinking she wouldn't notice. But they also never cleaned up the broken pieces from the original item. My mother brought this incident to the attention of the director of Baywinde who had absolutely no interest in hearing about it and simply told her if she was concerned about it, she should report it to the police. He is widely known among the residents as being completely useless when it comes to addressing their concerns. My mother mentioned this to the president of the organization during one of her visits to Baywinde. The president promised to look into it. But after weeks of brushing my mother off, the final "resolution" to someone entering my mother's apartment, breaking something of hers, and trying (poorly) to cover it up, is that Baywinde claims they have no way of knowing what staff member entered her apartment at that time. So there is absolutely no accountability on their part. The president did tell my mother that she could provide them with a list of staff members who are authorized to enter her apartment when she's not there. Within a few weeks of providing them with that list, someone who was not on the list entered her apartment and removed the pendant they use to alert staff of falls, which my mother had put on one of her own gold chains. They replaced it with a new pendant, without swapping the chain. They simply took her old pendant and gold chain. My mother had to go to the front desk and ask about the incident before the chain was returned to her. Again, management at the facility did not care that someone had entered her apartment without her permission and taken a personal item of hers. No accountability. If your loved one isn't able to advocate for themselves, expect them to be taken advantage of by management that habitually either completely ignores their concerns, brushes them off, or straight up gaslights them.

This is an excellent senior living residency! Beautiful apartments, delicious food as well as exciting events and activities! The management is caring and responsive, it has really made a huge difference. I would highly recommended anyone thinking of independent living care for their loved one to check out Castle Pointe at Baywinde!

I highly recommend Castle Pointe at Baywinde. My mother is safe, happy and really enjoys all the activities and outings they offer. The staff is EXCELLENT and caring. My mother was very reluctant to move and now can't imagine living anywhere else.

My mother is now a resident at Baywinde. This is an Independent Living Facility. It took about 3 months to make final decisions and get it done. On our first visit to Baywinde I noticed there were no smells, no questionable odors. On the 2nd visit one of the residents stopped us and said don't think twice about this place. All with a smile on her face. My mother has lived here 2 months now, and I can say she's happy, and that is what it's all about.
