Overview
Some senior living communities offer multiple levels of care, but here at Brookdale Pointe West in Bradenton, Florida, we focus exclusively on providing top-notch memory care services. Because we focus on making sure your loved one has every opportunity to thrive in a safe and secure environment, you can rest a little easier knowing they’re in good hands and receiving the attentive care they deserve.
We designed our community from the ground up to serve seniors living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Through our person-centered, signature program called Clare Bridge, they’ll be able to take advantage of all our years of research and experience each and every day. Our team will offer gentle guidance and reminders as they participate in six planned activities per day, such as:
-
Gentle exercise classes
-
Musical performances
-
Creative art classes
-
Trivia and brain games
-
Pet, music and aromatherapy
-
Corn hole competitions
-
Happy hour socials
Activities like this give residents the chance to maintain their current skills, feel a sense of purpose and belonging and inspire joy-filled days.
Our common rooms and private apartments have all the comforts of home so your loved one can feel relaxed and at ease. We also have circular pathways throughout the community and enclosed outdoor courtyards too. Monitored entries and exits and a 24-hour security system can also provide peace of mind for you and other family members.
Because we work with you before your loved one arrives to create a custom care plan, you never have to worry that their healthcare needs will go unattended. We can help with things like bathing, dressing, managing medication and coordinating with outside healthcare providers. But our staff is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.

This is my first on line review. I had to use my daughter's review post because I am not tech savvy. My mother developed dementia and we could no longer take care of her at home. We looked at several places before we picked Brookdale and we have been so happy with our choice. The administrative staff is great in answering our numerous questions. They have always promptly returned all calls. The true heroes are the staff. They work non stop, getting my mother up. dressed and fed. They wash her and change her pull up numerous times throughout the day. They keep her engaged. Last week they even had a "pool party "for the residents. Every time I go and visit, they know who I am and who I am visiting. They know exactly where my mother is and tell me how her day has been. Words alone can not express how happy and lucky I am that my mother is at Brookdale.

The administrative staff is wonderful and very caring. The nurses and caregivers are great. They just need more help as does every facility that we have ever investigated. They do a super job given the amount of work they are asked to accomplish. The surroundings are lovely and very relaxing.

I visited the facility with a family friend to visit her mother, who resides there. I normally try to stay away from ALF centers because they make me sad, but this was not the case. As soon as we walked in, I could hear laughter from some of the residents sitting in a little sitting area. They were all of good health and having a genuinely good time with one of the workers. Another worker was walking around nonstop asking the residents if they needed anything and making jokes and having a good time. If a person has to be away from his or her family, it's nice for them to have such a loving and light-hearted atmosphere with their second-family.
