Freedom Village at Bradenton

My wife passed away in Amarillo, Texas, where we had lived for nearly 50 years, near the end of May 2025. The only other family I had was my daughter in Sarasota, so it was only natural that I should move here to Bradenton, Florida. My daughter sent me brochures from three retirement communities. When I compared freedom village to the other two, there was no question about where I should settle. I moved in here, July 1 of 2025 and was amazed at how friendly everybody was. Not just staff, who you would expect to be friendly, but other Residents. As well. I felt welcomed. I felt warmth. I felt friendship and I felt like I belonged from the moment I got here. I have a very nice one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette and Launderette and I really don’t need any more than that. There are three on property restaurants that I can choose to eat at and often eat with friends. The food is very good and very, very inexpensive. We have an activities Director, Sue Lofthouse, who does an absolutely Yeoman’s job, providing us with places to go, things to do, and these folks even provide us transportation to almost all of them. They even have an occasional happy hour at no cost. They’re really is no reason to just sit around and do nothing unless that’s what you want to do. We are free to come and go as we please. There is excellent security and housekeeping and maintenance available at no additional cost, anytime you need it. Bradenton is about midway between Tampa Bay and Sarasota, on the Suncoast of Florida. There is an absolute plethora of great restaurants, fine medical facilities, and plenty of on and off property entertain entertainment as well. I have said many times that I really feel like I’ve landed on my feet when I came here after the death of my wife and have no doubt that this was the right thing to do and the right place to do it I really do highly recommend this continuous care retirement community. I need to have no fear whatsoever of what will become of me as I grow older because these folks will see that I am properly cared for. I couldn’t be happier if I were twins!

My mom lives at Freedom Village. I'm visiting her and staying in the guest room and its beautiful and very comfortable. Thank you to Ileana for helping me get checked in and making sure I was taken care of. I highly recommend staying at Freedom Village instead of a hotel. Thank you Miss Ileana 😊

My Husband and I moved into Freedom Village about 3 months ago with our dog/baby, all three of us LOVE it! You could not ask for a more Wonderful place to live in retirement, The Dining is First class , food is incredible and Menu offers a wide selection of entrees. Have not had anything but incredible experiences and LOVE being here. Everyone is very friendly and the staff here could not be more helpful, caring and efficient. COME AND VISIT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!

My husband and I have lived in Freedom Village of Bradenton's Independent living for almost 10 years. We've been through hurricanes, renovations, and COVID during those years and we know we are in capable hands. Everything FV does is first rate, making sure the residents and staff are safe, happy, and well taken care of. Lots of activities are offered to entertain us and keep us fit, including exercise classes, movies, weekly entertainment, and trips. And we have choices for dining: 2 dining rooms (soon to be 3), a Bistro, and take out. And the food is good! But best of all are the people! Residents and staff are friendly and helpful, knowing we are all in this together. This is definitely a 5 star community.
