RUN AWAY FAST. I wouldn’t put my neighbors dog in this place! I’m an independent caregiver and have had several clients in this place, as well as two personal friends (they were on the assisted side) They care about money, NOT your family member. The food is sub-par, except during the holidays that the family visits, then they bring out the good stuff. They tell you your family member can have food any time they are hungry, ha! I saw them literally give someone bread and butter because they had already cleaned everything up. (I will give credit to the servers though, most of them are actually amazing and kind. Major props to Randy. And Arthur is a good cook, he’s just only part time) They claim they offer house keeping but they don’t tell you the housekeeper is allowed ten minutes in your room and those women never last as they wear out quickly. They do not check on your family member. They only recently got a decent maintenance man. Sadly they rarely last, I’ve been going there since 2021 and am sure there’s been at least 10 different guys. (I had a client whose closet door fell off, I lodged a complaint for months, as it was just propped against the wall. I was always worried it would fall. I finally had to sit it in the hall way and then enough others complained about it being there they finally fixed it. It took 10 minutes to fix) They lie to get you in the door. Make promises they don’t keep and then since none of it’s ever in your contract they say “we never said that” And they raise the rent hundreds of dollars every year. And will nickel and dime those on the assisted side for every little thing. I believe there’s been 5 executive directors in this time also, only one was any good. He actually listened when I would bring complaints to him. Didn’t fix them all but at least he tried on a few. I can’t even count the number of front desk workers, activity directors, accountants, bus drivers, etc. they have gone through. And the bus! Ugh! They have a list you put your name on to get a ride to the Dr. I have heard my client give them a date and time, and I have requested rides for the clients, somehow they get forgotten on the list and told nope, won’t take you, you have to cancel. Why have I kept quiet? Well I haven’t, I’ve complained multiple times but since I’m only a caregiver and not a family member, I’m ignored. If you love your family member DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!!! If you hate them and just want some place cheap, be warned, they raise the rent extremely every year! I used to joke that I was going to make up business cards to hand to people coming to view the place that said (run away fast) but my clients always said no please, because they will find a way to take it out on me. I’ll post a picture of their kitchen just so it’s obvious I was at the cda Brookdale

My friends and family all want to know if I'm okay and happy. So I tell them about Brookdale. I have nearly 50 new and wonderful friends. They come from all walks of life and different states. We have so much to talk about. Our meal time is our time to share and that means we can talk and laugh about old times. And Brookdale keeps us busy with activities and interesting things to do. Plus they bring outsiders in such as young children doing their piano recitals or a group of singers or dancers. And we have a bus that takes us shopping or to our doctor appointments or to get my nails done. And one of my favorite things to do is play pool. Actually it's a toss up between playing pool or playing Bingo. But they set us up to have a pool tournament. I can't remember when I had so much fun. This really is a wonderful place to live. I'd like to say a big "Thank you" to all the employees at Coeur d'Alene Brookdale for caring so much about us and our welfare and happiness.

We’ve had a really great experience with Brookdale. The staff are friendly, caring, and put a lot of heart into what they do. You can tell they truly care about the residents. The place is always clean and welcoming, and there’s a nice sense of community. We’re really thankful for the care and support here and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for senior living in the area.
