If I could give zero stars, I would. I'm extremely disappointed with Bickford of Bourbonnais. We planned for my mother, who has advanced Alzheimer’s disease, to move in, but we ultimately chose to keep her at home. Although we signed some initial paperwork, she never moved in and never received any services from the facility. Now, Bickford is trying to charge us $2,635.00 for absolutely nothing. My mother is 73 and on a strict fixed income. This is outrageous, unethical, and feels like pure greed. Families dealing with the challenges of Alzheimer's should not be taken advantage of like this. I’ve reached out to corporate and am currently waiting for a response. If they do the right thing and remove these charges, I would consider updating this review. But as of now, this experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

Watch out for Arianna!! Went there to just tour the place. Did the tour, Arianna sits us down, saying there's only 1 room available. We can hold it for 5 days without charge. Blah blah blah. She straight up lied to our faces. I tried canceling on Monday by sending her a text to get ahold of me, of course she didn't respond to my text. Finally on wed i text saying im gonna pass on sending my mom there, low and behold she got right back with me. She knew what she was doing. Ended up getting charged $1500. The reason I declined my mom moving there is because the 2 days I went there, )once to tour, 2nd day to show my mom) the residence garbage can where they get coffee and fruit from all day, was completely over flowing. Sorry but paying that much a month, the place should be spotless. I never saw any cnas or any workers really while touring, how they'd be able to care for patients with dementia is beyond me. My 2nd time there, I called saying, I wanted to bring my mom to see the place, I stood outside for at least a half hour trying to get in. Another sign of whos watching the residence. All in all, just be careful with what you're signing there. Arianna is a big talker and will gladly take money from you without telling you anything.

My grandmother was recently hospitalized. It was discovered that she had an infection that was left untreated. We were told a nurse was checking on her weekly. They didn’t. She’s not getting the care with nursing, housekeeping, bathing, or laundry. We go biweekly to visit and her room is a mess. It’s hard to find another facility but not impossible. Bickford can do better. They need to hire staff to take care of the residence and have them accountable if they do not provide the services contracted to provide. The executive director, Ariana, needs to be better at communicating. She blows off our concerns and is only good at giving excuses. “The nurse will be back Thursday to see her”. (Meaning my grandmother). No one ever came.

DO NOT SIGN...unless you are 100% sure. My family and I visited Bickford while searching for my father's next home. We enjoyed our facility tour so much that we signed an agreement to hold the apartment. We were told we had 7 days to cancel, which I did so on day 6. I am giving them 1 star because I continue to receive a $1,500 bill saying we owe them money. This has been going on since Sep 2023. The director has not taken my calls, so I left voicemails for 4 months. Then I tried her manager, who also did not take my call. I am beyond frustrated. It is my recommendation NOT TO SIGN any agreement with these folks unless you are absolutely 100% sure you are moving in. It's a difficult journey when searching for nursing facilities for your loved ones. Feeling the pressure to sign because this is the only available unit we have and knowing you need to find a place for your dad is just too much to handle. I feel like we were misled by the agreement, and with them not returning phone calls, I think my validation is accurate. I recommend you PROCEED WITH CAUTION when working with Bickford.
