From the moment you walk into Bickford of Aurora, you're greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home. The building is beautiful, comfortable, and inviting, making residents and visitors feel at ease. The staff are incredibly caring, compassionate, and attentive. They take the time to get to know each resident and treat them with kindness, dignity, and respect. As an outside hospice nurse, I've had the opportunity to work alongside many of the caregivers, and I'm consistently impressed by their professionalism and genuine concern for the people they care for. The care provided in the Mary B's Memory Care unit is exceptional. The team is patient, skilled, and dedicated to creating a safe, engaging, and loving environment for residents living with memory loss. It's evident that they truly care about each person's well-being and quality of life. I have great confidence in the care provided at Bickford of Aurora and would not hesitate to recommend this community to families looking for compassionate memory care for their loved one.

My father in law had dementia and it was time to find somewhere close to home that would give him the best care. After a lot of searching, Bickford of Aurora was the best choice for our family. My father in law was well cared for all the way to the very end of his life. The staff was all so wonderful. Each and every staff member not only knew my mother in law that was there daily, but knew the rest of us that came often, but not as often as my mother in law. The evening my father in law passed away, you could see how shattered the staff was. The compassion that they showed our family through my father in law’s time at Bickford carried through until the very end. Staff even came to the wake and continue to check in on our family even to this day. When you become a part of Bickford, you just don’t become a patient, you become a part of their family that each staff member truly cares about and that is extended to the family of the resident. We are forever grateful for everything Bickford.

In August of 2025, we began a search for an Assisted Living arrangement for our Father. After looking at several locations, we decided we liked the homey atmosphere of Bickford of Aurora. At first, Dad was not as convinced. So we waited hoping he'd decide this was best for him. Unfortunately due to a turn in his abilities in October of 2025, we had no choice but to move him from a rehab facility to Assisted Living at Bickford. The staff at Bickford was fabulous! Helping us to make him as comfortable and as able as possible. Working with us and him to get his medications adjusted properly. Dad's condition started to deteriorate further and we moved him to Mary B's memory care unit at Bickford of Aurora. Here again, he received the utmost care and concern. Dad passed peacefully in their kind care. Near the end, we added hospice care but Bickford's staff was still very involved with his care. They held his hand and ours during this time. He stayed engaged with his Mary B's community right up till the last. Everyone at Bickford of Aurora was fabulous the whole time Dad was with them. Home healthcare was not an option for him but Bickford's staff provided everything he needed to make him feel at home. And while they were taking care of him, they took care of us too. Communication from staff on every level was shared often to help to ease our worries and make us glad for choosing Bickford. I can't imagine a better place for him! Or us!!

From Sept 2024-Nov2025... Roughly charged 83,000 and some change. Fee was raised twice during stay. When asked for doctor documents for reasoning of increase, email was ignored and never responded to. They're business model reminds me of the Movie " I Care... A Lot. Staff seemed nice and caring, although repeatedly took soda, and snacks from mother's room. Mom was kind enough not to complain. But seems inappropriate for staff to consider that was ok. The 55.00 hair salon fee also seems to be a little excessive. Fact that we had to take my Mom shopping on a regular basis, when they assured us they take guests out to do so, rarely happens. To the extent of my mother reaching out to me for Toilet paper. And received email on the problem of garbage bags for rooms that we had to provide. It was sad to visit and see guest basically wheeled out to sit in front of T.V. left there. So at these prices I would definitely check into in home care. It could save you thousands per month My Mom is much happier now that she's at home with family. Yes there are some difficulties in doing so. But a little sacrifice goes a long way, when it comes to family. Don't let these people con you. As with any business they're there for one reason... Profitablity, and man is business good.
