Care
Independent Living
Designed to help older adults who want to maintain an active and independent lifestyle, these communities offer services and amenities that cater to residents’ needs, while encouraging a sense of community and freedom from the responsibilities of owning a home.
Life Plan/CCRCs
Also referred to as Life Plan Communities, these communities offer a comprehensive continuum of care for residents. CCRCs offer multiple levels of care, allowing seniors to transition between independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care as their needs change throughout their aging journey.
Respite Care
Respite care is short-term or temporary care. Respite care can be provided in adult day centers, in private homes via home health agencies and in senior living communities, most often assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
Skilled Nursing
Skilled nursing and nursing homes are residential facilities that offer medical care and support for individuals that require a higher level of medical attention and assistance. These are staffed by licensed healthcare providers and offer a range of services to ensure the well-being and comfort of residents.
Personal Care
Personal care involves assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, medication management, and mobility support to help maintain independence and enhance day-to-day life.

My 99 year old Mom has been living in an apartment at Beacon Hill for well over a decade. The community here is terrific! Welcoming and friendly. Tasty food and activities galore. Then Mom.got sick about 2 months ago and ended up needing to be in Health Center area for rehab. ALL of the staff that has cared for my mother or assisted us in any way have been just wonderful. The physical thetapists are so great! Nurses and CNAs absolutely amazing! I'm SO thankful my folks chose Beacon Hill years ago!!

The SNF medical staff was excellent, but the business side, and particularly those handling intake and insurance matters, were awful. Though assured by 4 separate staff including the intake director, social worker, head nurse, and finance director (all of whom were no longer employed there within 6 months of this event) that the error was on the part of the facility and they would correct their improper insurance claim filing, and despite their own doctor’s written verification and all needed paperwork done by me, my mother was charged $27.000 even though her Medicare was prepared to cover everything if they would simply have done their job to begin with or been willing to make the correction. After dead-air for almost a year (besides bills, which I responded to via phone and never got a person), they sent a highly unprofessional lawyer after my 86 year old mom, who finally settled because she was too unwell to manage the stress of going to court and didn’t have the funds for a legal battle. It is pathetic that the business side of this facility can’t match the professionalism of the medical staff.

My Uncle was a rehab patient at Beacon Hill in Lombard for a month. Not once did we have a negative experience. Everyone from the CNAs to the receptionists were so compassionate and helpful through every step. I would not hesitate bringing a family member to Beacon Hill! Thank you to all!!

My friend has appreciated the physical therapy he received and this is the only good comment I could leave. They take an hour or more to respond to requests for help. There is no set schedule for eating (food is terrible) or getting your medications. They use your towel to clean a mess in your bathroom and don't give you back a clean towel. Management avoids you. You can't reach them because the mailbox is full so you can't leave a message. Staff will call for you and no one can be found when you are there. This place needs to be reported to the Health Department and Better Business Bureau. Avoid the rehabilitation section - I can't answer for the residents living in the other buildings. Amen!
