Asher Point Senior Living of Austin

This is my 3rd (and best) senior facility since my spouse died a few years ago. And it has improved greatly since I moved in over 2 years ago. Both management and full-/part- time employees love their work AND the residents! (And old folks are not always the most easily tolerated!) We have a bus available to take us shopping and on various special outings. The chef and Activities director plan special programs that include food from selected areas. This week we had a guest who brought Australian animals (even a small kangaroo!) to introduce to us! Not the newest facility in Austin, both the apartments and the public areas (inside and outside) are being renovated. I highly recommend Asher Point Senior Living of Austin… and look forward to meeting new neighbors here at our “dorm”!

This facility is a petri dish for communicable disease. Approximately four to five employees including me recently tested positive for Covid and were still in direct and close contact with elderly residents before and/or after testing posi The facility did not follow CDC/OSHA infection control guidelines. Infected employees were not immediately removed from duty, isolated, or replaced. There was no proper quarantine, masking enforcement, contact tracing, or notification to residents or their families. This exposed vulnerable senior residents, many with underlying medical conditions, to serious risk of illness. The staff were not given proper PPE or guidance on usage of PPE The Executive Director is an arrogant rude unprofessional person who treats his staff especially in Assisted living as dirt. The food is unhygienic, bland and not worth for human consumption and the kitchen is infested with roaches and bugs. Unfortunately the dietary needs of residents are not taken in consideration. The hallways smell of urine and stale mold The elevator has been broken and non functional multiple times in Assisted living. Not to mention flooding of rooms is common during any rains.. The maintainance is pathetic and very slow to respond. This facility is not worth any negative stars if they existed.

Nurse Jessica is an astounding caregiver and medical provider. I have witnessed her informed and timely care making a huge difference in the lives of the guests. Attentive and loving staff make this facility exceptional.

Desmond was our facilitator, and you can tell that he is both really good at his job and truly loves it. He was very comforting to my mom, whose life was turned upside down just days before visiting. The residents were happy and engaging with us as we toured the facility. Rooms are very spacious and well maintained. Looks to be a very good place for your loved ones! More to come....??
