Andara Senior Living

My husband and I recently toured the Andara community. The receptionist was warm and friendly. In the lobby we were able to see photo bio’s of the community management team. It’s always helpful to recognize the leadership ‘in action’ in the facility and understand their roles. There are so many pluses to the community it’s hard to know where to start so I’ll go with my personal favorites…the individual apartments are absolutely darling! I found them to be very brightly lit and roomy for one person. The fitness areas were very well maintained, nothing appeared dated or in disrepair. The common areas: theater, dining areas, library and card rooms were largely in use and the residents were engaging one another and us as we toured. At the time of the tour we were told there are still some remodeling in process. Overall, this is a community I’d highly recommend.

my parents have been at Andara since October in the independent living. We are just shy of one year and the entire experience has been amazing. All of their staff is loving and caring. They knew my parents name within the first week not just the front desk but everybody it seemed. Recently my mother needed to be moved to memory care, we knew it was coming when we picked the facility. They let my dad start taking my mom over for a few hours a day to see how she did. Not only that but Executive Director would take time out of her day to come over to mom and dad’s apartment and pick up my mom and take her to memory care for a few activities here and there. When the time came to actually move my mom, the entire staff was amazing, but I really need to single out Karlie the Executive Director for going so far above and beyond, I can’t even thank you enough!! I would also like to mention their director of memory care Bharti has been extremely inviting and engaging. Recently we had a small issue with my mom and her communication was fantastic. It was health related and they were on it.Not only calling me right away but also her doctor. I myself am a Hospice Nurse. I have been in this facility multiple times the MedTech Zee loves everybody and is so good on her follow-through and communication. I cannot say enough about this place and would give it a 10 star rating If that was an option. Your family member will truly be loved and cared for in every way. Nice work Andara for making our parents feel loved and cared for.

The health care staff on the 2nd floor leave a lot to be desired. They come in the room yelling, "You called me" from the front door. It is obvious they called you otherwise why would you be there?? Thier ability to speak English leaves a lot to be desired. Then to stand there and laugh, thinking it was funny. I can only imagine what happens when the resident is alone. It appears that Andara hires the bottom of the barrel. They increase the resident cost to offset the wages, but the wages for who?? The leadership, the director, who? Because the care or med techs, do nothing but complain about the wages are the lowest for a senior living center and most of them take this job just temporarily and then move on. I guess that explains the nurse turn over as well. Two in the last year.. Food not all that great either for the cost. The expense of living there is not worth it.

We moved my Mother-in- Law into Andara this afternoon. Everyone was very pleasant and welcoming to her. When we first came to tour Andara, our salesman, Steve was very helpful and knowledgeable in introducing us to the beautiful, updated and clean Senior Living community. He explained in detail all the cost, amenities and services Andara had to offer. We toured a few of the available apartments, which were well appointed. We chose a one bedroom with a den. Although it has only been one day, my Mother-in-Law seems happy to be in such a nice community with friendly residents and helpful staff members.
