Anchor Lodge originated as a early 1900's hotel. It has been retrofitted for health care, had multiple additions and some brand new finish upgrade renovations! Our facility offers skilled nursing and therapy care, respite stays, intermediate care and a beautiful assisted living. The building boasts a pub and lounge that overlooks Lake Erie, extensive therapy gym with talented therapists, full nursing care by our dedicated team and a fun recreation department-making it a perfect fit!

Our father was devastated when he learned that despite his hard work with PT to rebuild strength in rehabilitation, he could no longer safely return to his assisted living apartment. He reacted with vehement protests, listing impossible promises in attempts to negotiate his way back to independence. Social Services Director A.J. Tarpley was our ROCK. She values knowing the residents personally, and understands what makes each person unique. She took the time to really listen to Dad's anxieties and concerns, and went the extra mile to find a way address his special needs while level-setting realistic expectations for the transition. He now consistently remarks how pleased he is with his new room! We are so grateful for the professionalism and compassion provided by the staff at Anchor Lodge. Thank you for the care you provide on so many levels.

The food here has always been decent, but recently I had my gall bladder removed and things I ate for 75 years are bothering me. Kelly came in and we worked out a menu for me of things to substitute when there are typically items that could upset my system. She comes in several times a week to see how I am doing. I can't say in words how much I appreciate her.

I wish I could give them a zero. There was no coordination with WellSpring Hospice. Anchor Lodge blamed WellSpring and WellSpring blamed Anchor. My mom went 13 hours with no medication. The hospice nurse left without advocating for my mom and the nurse at Anchor Lodge did nothing to help. If your loved one needs hospice care go to a hospice owned facility. Anchor Lodge appeared to be severely understaffed with nurses who did not seem well trained with hospice patients.

The woman I spoke with was kind and informative. AJ made a genuine effort to find placement for my family member. Although it ultimately wasn’t the right fit due to his health needs, she provided helpful resources and guidance. The place seem clean and offered beautiful views of the lake.
