Just went on a tour and love this place! Cathy showed us all around so we got a good sense of the ambience, the apartments, and the physical layout. There is a feeling of open-- ness but not emptiness, and wow, so much light throughout. Tasteful contemporary decor all around. We stayed for lunch, which felt like dining in a fine restaurant: cloth-covered tables, carafes of ice water on each table, choice of food and beverage. The tables were spaced comfortably apart, and the chairs slid so easily for sitting down and getting up (one of my pet peeves at other places). And there was a pleasant hum of spirited conversation all about. Not noisy, mind you-- but just like the way friends sound enjoying a meal together. Overall impression: impeccable, unpretentious place, roomy apartments with great views, lovely open areas for gathering or quiet reflection. There are many group activities to choose from without feeling "over-programmed". The Woods at Canco is a place where you can truly be yourself!

The management and staff at the Woods at Canco are the best! Over the past few years, I have helped several clients sell their homes and move to this community, and my clients' and my experience with Cathy Wheaton, the marketing manager, has been nothing short of excellent! Cathy truly cares about older adults; she is kind, thoughtful, patient, and is so easy to work with. Cathy is not one of those marketing people who strongarms prospective residents into signing on the dotted line. She only cares that they find the best and safest community that meets their personal needs. I also want to mention that the waitstaff, housekeeping, and all the other staff have encountered have always been courteous and welcoming whenever I visit the community.

I went to tour The Woods at Canco since my wife and I have been looking for a community in the area that had a good independent living program but was not too expensive. The Woods appealed because of its lovely setting and info on the web site. On arriving we were welcomed by very friendly staff, and soon met Cathy, the sales manager who couldn't have been warmer or more welcoming, even in the midst of an obviously very busy day. We were invited to lunch before our tour and found the dining room to be a lovely, open setting and the food very good. It was also served in a low-key, efficient way by very friendly staff. Another appealing point about The Woods is that it was recently renovated and the decor and "feel" of the "front of the house" was open and light and very tasteful. We appreciated the lovely solarium where we were invited to sit for a while talking with another "customer. "We toured both one and two bedroom apartments. While the one bedroom was a bit small , the two bedroom was quite spacious. We were told that changes could be made at our expense, for instance, we would prefer wood floors rather than carpet. We saw residents using the activity and workout rooms. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. The activity schedule had quite a variety of interesting things to do, something that's very important to us. In general, we felt very excited about the prospect of living at the Woods. Having toured many programs in Maine and Massachusetts and Rhode Island, we felt that The Woods was very likely a good "fit" for us. The staff that we met appeared top notch, particularly Cathy, who was one of the most dynamic managers we've met in our travels. We are, at this point, still quite self sufficient and look forward to living in a community where we can have some influence on the way our daily lives are structured. The Woods seems to provide this kind of environment, along with a lovely, fresh setting that can only get better as one gets to know it.

We were in a panic when our mother was released from the rehab facility and her new home wasn't ready yet. After calling "A Place for Mom" they recommended we check out Holiday Woods at Canco. I was eager to visit after speaking with Cathy W. on the phone. Later, when I met Cathy in person for a tour I knew it was a good place for our mother. The facility was clean, well-kept, tied into the medical services we needed, and cheery. I met several residents who were delightful. It was a great choice for us. Cathy was amazing, kind, caring, and professional and helped us transition smoothly. I would recommend Holiday Woods at Canco. Give Cathy a call!
