Woodlands Village

My dad called Woodlands Village home for 13 years. We are moving him to Virginia to be closer to family but it was a difficult decision for us. He has been very comfortable at Woodlands. It is a well run friendly place and very affordable. His single bedroom on the Independent Living side was just the right size for him and his dog. He enjoyed the company of friends, and looked forward to poker nights. We appreciated the efforts of the staff who helped him through several hospitalizations and one evacuation. Thanks to Saber, Bob and Cat for taking my calls, checking on dad and keeping me informed. We enjoyed many meals with dad in the dining hall and every evening included the remark “good soup!”. The serving staff was always cheerful and so helpful. I know he will miss Woodlands.

This place gets 4 stars only because the facility is a bit dated but going through complete renovation. My mom’s unit is a studio with new carpets and floors. When I arrived to move her in it looked great, still little tasks to accomplish but the staff was super responsive and helpful. The entire process of getting accepted and doing the paperwork was very easy, straightforward and well organized. Staff was clear and accurate on costs and timing and in my case moved mountains to get her in quickly. Value is extraordinary and fantastic as similar places charge almost double for the same amenities. Food smells and looks great absolutely restaurant quality. Activities and excursions are abundant. Finally staff is super friendly, caring, helpful and was great to work with. Well done.

After losing everything he owned in Hurricane Ian, we moved my dad into an apartment at Woodlands, where he lived for several years. My dad picked Woodlands because it seemed more ‘homey’ than the other more ‘sterile’ or hospital-like options, and boy was he right. The staff is EXCEPTIONAL! They treated my dad (and myself) like family. The whole vibe there is very casual. They're helpful and compassionate, not bossy. You can tell this is more than just a job to them. The other residents were also very friendly, and Woodlands has lots of events and activities for its residents. I’d love to live here myself…someday

My mother has been living at Woodlands Village since April, 2024. This facility and staff are an answer to our prayers. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They are some of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. My mother could not be happier. Yes, the facility is very dated, however, they are slowly updating everything. It takes time. The hallways are dark and need updated brighter lighting and flooring to accommodate the elderly. Once inside the apartment though, it was clean, freshly painted with new flooring and carpet. My mother is legally blind and the staff kindly installed a brighter light in the kitchen to accommodate her. Very kind of them. The apartment is lovely! Activities are abundant and the food is delicious. The chef does an amazing job. Restaurant quality. I would recommend taking a tour if looking for senior living.
