If you are considering Woodland Terrace for a loved one, especially someone who requires Memory Care or Assisted Living, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Our experience was nothing short of heartbreaking. Management was unresponsive, communication was poor, and the constant staff turnover made it nearly impossible to have any confidence in the consistency of care being provided. We never felt that our concerns were taken seriously. The Memory Care unit was the most disappointing part of our experience. When our loved one needed additional assistance, we expected guidance and support. Instead, we were handed a list of third-party referral phone numbers and essentially left to figure everything out on our own. For a facility that advertises Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, the lack of support during one of the most difficult transitions a family can face was deeply upsetting. The condition of the building also raised serious concerns. During our time there, we observed mold on the ceilings and cockroaches in the facility. That is not the level of cleanliness or maintenance anyone should expect in a place caring for vulnerable seniors. Choosing a care facility is one of the most important decisions a family will ever make. Based on our experience, I would not trust Woodland Terrace with the care of someone I love. There are facilities that provide compassionate care, clear communication, and a clean, well-maintained environment. In our experience, this was not one of them. My advice to other families is simple: do your research, ask difficult questions, tour multiple facilities, and don't let marketing materials make the decision for you. We wish we had. I hope sharing our experience helps another family avoid the stress, disappointment, and emotional hardship that we went through.

Our experience in the Memory Care unit was profoundly disheartening from beginning to end. The pervasive negligence, chronic lack of vigilance, and apparent complacency created an environment where preventable falls, unexplained bruising, and recurring lapses in care became disturbingly commonplace. Rather than demonstrating compassion, accountability, and meticulous attention to residents’ well-being, staff frequently appeared to prioritize expedience over excellence, relying on shortcuts that fundamentally compromised both safety and dignity. Entrusting a loved one to their care should inspire confidence, yet our experience instead left us with profound disappointment and an enduring sense that the welfare of vulnerable residents was treated as an afterthought.

Beautifully located in the heart of Cary, a wonderful park like setting with a lovely pond to enjoy. Property is well maintained and staff are friendly and most helpful - recent moved an aging parent into Woodland Terrace to allow him to age with dignity and to date are happy knowing he is comfortable, safe and has great care!

I had a nice visit with my mom today at Woodland Terrace. And I also had a great conversation with Kay, who works in the Arboretum. Kay shared some information to help me understand the medication distribution process for the patients. She had a caring conversation with my Mom and helped my sister and I. I enjoy talking with Woodland Terrace staff, they are kind and caring.
