I feel so blessed to live at Westminster. This is an amazing community, residents and staff alike. More like a family than a place to live. I’ve been here 3 years now and continue to be impressed every day. Among the most important aspects of a good life in later years are food and service. Westminster excels at both. The most outstanding of all staff members is Dontel Payne. When we first arrived, he was the bartender at the Tree Lounge in our building. But that’s not all he did. He developed strong relationships with the residents and made it his job to cheer them up, to keep things light, and he has always treated every single person, residents and staff with dignity and respect—I would even say with loving kindness. He is now in a manager position, but still will joyfully wait on anyone who comes into any of the restaurants, always remembers your name and room number, and can always have a personal conversation with you about something from your past together. He embodies great personal customer service!

In the few months I’ve lived at Westminster Manor, I’ve met warm people, both other residents and associates. Everyone seems to radiate happiness. I started out in rehab, with two fractures and have now moved to an independent living apartment. I’m stronger each day. Now, I’m able to participate in many events and have found them diverse and entertaining. Westminster Manor provides a warm home for me. I’m thankful for the expert care I’ve received here. Westminster not only provides my basic needs with delicious meals, a health care clinic, building maintenance, and fitness classes, but also with numerous programs for learning and entertainment under the direction of Ruth Sunil, our Community Life Services Director. She not only plans events for every month but also welcomes requests and ideas from residents. I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of this wonderful place.

We have taken our time adjusting to the big change moving into a place like Westminster involves, and sometimes find ourselves missing our home of many years and the total independence of younger ages. That said, we cannot think of a better retirement community than Westminster, and are enjoying the very excellent events, trips, and classes offered here, plus the varied talented and interesting community of our neighbors and the exceptional staff we are getting to know. Thank you!
