Westlake Woods by New Perspective

Walking through Westlake Woods during our tour, I just knew my Mom needed to come here. The Sales Director and the rest of the team knew everyone by their name and anticipated their needs before asked. We are truly looking forward to becoming a part of the Westlake Family!

Beautiful community- recently remodeled. Wonderful community with great staff! Would certainly recommend this community to anyone needing assisted living services. Dining room is grand with lots of natural light. Library and activity room also wonderful spaces for Residents to socialize and engage with others!

The time had arrived rather quickly and needed to transition my Dad from living Independently to Assisted Living. Upon researching in the Erie area, most important to me was a place that provided continuation of care, a place where he could remain, no matter what level of assistance was required, not sent to a different building where they are not familiar with him or his routines. West Lake Woods is set up as such. I had contacted Teryre (she is AMAZING!) and within 48 hrs we were touring the facility. Happy faces, cozy environment, spacious rooms, welcoming staff, and a varied menu with quality food were present. Very home like atmosphere and the rooms are a nice size. We have been part of the West Lake Woods family since January 2026. It has been a transition, especially since I am out of state and cannot stop in as often as I like. My Dad reports that he is happy there and everyone is nice. The call button took a minute and some training on his end, but the staff was very helpful and encouraging. The Facility is very clean! Housekeeping is very thorough and the food is great! We have enjoyed some meals there and the servers are so nice and personable. When I do stop, it’s so nice to see familiar faces. I have not had much interaction with the care staff, but the staff that assisted with bathing made my Dad feel comfortable in a situation that could be uncomfortable. Maintenance answers quickly and gets it done. I witnessed the maintenance crew interacting with the residents, so respectful and patient. The facility physician as well as the Occupational and Physical Therapist communicate well and take the time and not rushed during their sessions. Nice activities, my Dad is slowly getting involved. They invite him and have asked family his interests to attempt to get him more involved. Nursing has had some turnover, but the nursing staff has taken their time to straighten a few things out and provide time to discuss concerns and get them addressed. No facility is without fault. I feel like West Lake Woods has assessed a few things since we moved in, especially shower schedules and laundry, as my Dad reports to me daily if these occur. So far, my Dad and family are very happy with our decision to select West Lake Woods as a place for my Dad. I hope staff realizes how important and impactful they are to the residents and resident families and that West Lake Woods small size is a quaint comforting community because of their care.

I recently had the pleasure of touring Westlake Woods and was thoroughly impressed! The staff was warm and welcoming, and community is beautiful. I loved the sense of community and the variety of activities and amenities available. I'm excited to have my dad join the community soon- I know he'll love it here. The care and support provided to residents is top-notch, and I feel confident that he'll receive the best care possible. Can't wait to see him thrive in this wonderful community.
