I couldn’t recommend more! Finding a place in town that offers vibrant housing solutions for independent living, assisted living and memory care is such a critical component to our community! Wellington Bay offers fine dining, friendships, activities and a beautiful clean environment with professional healthcare as little or as much as needed. The staff are friendly and the ambience is positive. A resident stopped me in the hallway to say how happy she is to be living there! Can’t get better than that!

My dad was a resident at Wellington Bay Lisbet Health Center for nearly 6 weeks before we took him home. He has frontotemporal dementia, and our hope was that he would get the right level of care suited for him that he was not getting at home. This includes daily activities to keep him active and engaged, help with daily hygiene practices, as well as relationship building with the other residents. Before moving him in, a nurse came to our house to better understand what level of care my dad needed. We were also very clear about the stage of dementia (and the type of dementia) he suffers from. Lack of Activities: During his 6 week stay, none of the above goals were accomplished. Me, my mom, or both of us visited my dad daily (after 2 weeks of his stay alone so that he can get adjusted). Everyday I walked in, the residents were slouched over their chairs sleeping. There were no activities going on, aside from maybe throwing a plastic ball around. Daily activities were promised, yet none were coordinated. Little Food: Either me or my mom was with my dad for dinner. One night I was there, his form of starch was a QUARTER (yes quarter) of a sweet potato. How cheap can you be? About two weeks later, one of the weekday nurses (who I will not name) opened my dad’s plate of food and said “this is it??? Let me get you more food” and shared more food with my dad so he had a sufficient dinner. Careless Weekend Staff: I had visited my dad over Labor Day weekend - his toilet was not flushed, his shower looked dirty, and my dad’s clothes were not changed from Saturday into Sunday. My dad may have resisted that morning with the staff - but really, do you not know how to get him changed? I ended up changing him myself. Also, the bottom of his feet were black with dirt as if the floors hadn’t been washed in his room in quite some time. One of the first weekends we were there, he was also in Depends. He does not wear them and we asked the head weekend nurse why he was wearing them - her response verbatim was “he needed to go to the bathroom and all our staff was busy with other residents.” Mind you, there was only 8 or so residents there at the time. So because you’re “busy,” you’re going to put my dad in a diaper??? He does not need them and always articulates when he needs to use the rest room!! Constant Complaints on Things THEY Should Be Handling: This facility would call my mom DAILY complaining it takes a long time for my dad to put on his shoes, he would try to walk around during dinner, he tries to eat with his fingers, and that he “doesn’t make decisions on if he wants to participate in activities.” If this staff was at least somewhat familiar with the type of dementia my dad has, they would know that decision making and following a process are what he struggles with. They created a “report card” with these items and wanted to charge us more money, as well as put him on medication to be more “compliant.” They also gave my dad melatonin at night when we asked them NOT to. They can’t even follow instructions themselves… General Health: My dad takes a daily baby aspirin so he had SOME bruising on his arms going into this facility. When he left the other day, he had bruises all over his legs and arms, much more than he went in with. Also he developed swollen feet (likely from sitting all day) which he never had at our house. They even had to put him diaretics to reduce the swelling. Needless to say, his feet are now back to normal now that he is home and not sitting a chair all day. Overall, this staff is not trained to handle dementia patients. They are money-hungry and wanting to put my dad on medication to make their lives easier. Sure, it takes a lot of work to take care of my dad, but we were very honest with his level of care going into this. If you have a loved one you care about, DO NOT bring them here. You and your loved one will be disappointed.

My wife and I have lived at Wellington Bay for over 2 years and it's wonderful! We formerly lived in a community in Palm Beach Gardens for four years and decided to leave there. It was an old facility (watch out for mold!) and a no-can-do administration. Wellington Bay is completely different, and all for the better. Here it's a new facility, very well maintained, with a great can-do attitude by the administration and excellent floor plans to choose from (we're in an apartment with over 2,000 square feet). We love the food, and the exceptional staff with expertise in fitness, wellness, community activities and more. Plus, there are two pickleball courts on site! Absolutely great! We love it.

Wellington Bay is exceptional. Our parents made it home 20 months ago and the entire team in every work area, from Sales, management, restaurant, concierge, security, everyone engaged our parents to make them feel at home in the community and part of a family. There care eventually has required the Lisbet facility and without any reservation for those reading this the compassionate quality of care that has been provided from the aides, nurses(Marie, Julie and Gertrude), doctor Sedhai, Lori in activities, concierge and management is outstanding. The quality of the facilities is excellent, this is a well run independent and assisted living location that has served our parents extremely well at an advanced age. The care and love they have shown is hard to write in a review but it is genuine, high quality and compassionate.
