We've had a relative at Washington Pointe for three months and are very pleased with his experience. The staff are positive and pleasant. The activities are varied and plentiful and they are activities people actually attend and enjoy. The facilities are homey and nice. The food is good, with menu selection at every meal. Residents seem to enjoy one another's company too. Our family member has experienced several places and this beats the others by far. We're happy he's there.

Do not place your parents here! My in laws were placed here in the memory care unit because my father father in law has dementia! He was left on the toilet for over 45 minutes and was broken into. The staff broke into their room and took pictures of their credit cards. We brought up to management attention to review film. And they did nothing! They didn’t want us to file a police report! The staff is NOT adequately trained to transfer patients safely and don’t wear name tags. They pulled on my father in laws arms. Please do you place your loved ones here!! We found a better place for them. Sincerely, an Occupational Therapist! Here are some pictures

Newly renovated and beautiful but the best part is the caring staff. They all take good care of my mom and make Washington Pointe a warm, happy and safe environment. They are eager to please and will do whatever it takes to fulfill a request. Nursing care is attentive and caring. Dining room is staffed with the nicest waiters and staff and food is very good. All the residents are friendly and inviting. There are a great variety of activities for both residents and fun family get togethers to get involved. My mom is very happy here and has recommended this “home away from home” to friends who have moved in and also love it here.

Like anything else the sales staff sell you on everything. Sounds great, looks great. But, in just the last several weeks there has been a turnover in staff. Lacking in response time. Lacking in knowledge how to properly care for my loved-ones equipment that is needed for survival. It’s disappointing. Curious, do the cleaning staff ever sweep or mop a residents floor? They were great at emptying the trash at least twice a day. Today, though the trash was not emptied once and stunk under the kitchen sink by 5:20pm. Food lacks any Southern Cooking, which is a bit disappointing. Most of the residents are from the south. It would be nice to have say, cornbread and a great navy bean and ham soup for instance. Or even chicken fried steak with cream gravy, mashed potatoes and corn or green beans. Just saying my loved one and a few other residents have mentioned the lack of southern food which they grew up on. I am not stating the food is bad. I am not. Just that there could be some southern favorites added. I think it would be awesome if maybe residents could have a bit of say on some foods to serve on occasion. When activities are listed on the calendar it would be great if it mentioned whether there was a coordinator or if the residents are to head it up themselves, instead of just being told, “I’ll get someone on it”, then no staff shows up to tell anyone anything. Leaving those wishing to attend just sitting around waiting to hear word for an hour. That is rude in my opinion. These are elderly folks wanting to enjoy themselves and they were left hanging wondering what the heck happened to someone letting them know…Anything! In my opinion, I do Not believe Washington Pointe is living up to their past standards that gained them or their employees recognition. I would really like to see Washington Pointe step up and live up to the hype the sales person shared prior to my loved one moving in.
