Vintage Park at Tonganoxie

They have an uncontrolled issue with bed bugs. They have an issue with black mold that could be corrected if the right products were able to be used but they have a NO bleach policy so that makes it hard for anyone to clean and keep clean also the hvac system need cleaned. The management treats the employees unfair and inside of taking care of issues they have no control over they are blamed and fired for them. Then if there are issues with a staff member and a resident the management does nothing about it like they say the do. You can go to management for everything like they say and report like they want then the next it's your fault. Then I have a big issue when it comes to people with mental health issues and needing be able to take care of themselves. Example: A staff member had a family death and because they are short on staff that staff member was to get over it and move on they were told to come into work and do do shift they were scheduled. So in my opinion they would keep employees better if they would change to better management!

I am coming up on my year here at Tonganoxie and it has been a year of improvement for the better. The individuals that have stayed with us through our positive changes have gain tremendous amount of knowledge and skills to better serve the residents and family members as they need and I am constantly being told by families they glad their loved one is here. There is still room for improvement but as a team we can only go up with this dedicated group of individuals and can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. I am over the moon that our dad is in a safe, clean and friendly facility. He’s been there 3 months now and I and my 2 brothers visit as much as time allows. Never have we seen anything less than a clean environment. I usually have lunch at least twice weekly and the food has always been a better dining experience than a lot of commercial restaurants. The staff is the sweetest bunch of folks who obviously care about the residents. The few times Dad has accidentally tripped his “panic button” (lanyard around his neck which his cat sometimes activates) someone is there to check on him within, it seems like, seconds. There are many different activities planned for the residents monthly and they can participate in as many or as few as they want. When I’ve had questions or concerns and leave a text message, it is returned promptly. Our entire family would give this facility 10 stars if we could!

Came with my gran gran paid 5 bucks for a meal that wasnt well suited for any human being.
