The Piper

The Piper Assisted Living facility in Kansas City, Kansas has been absolutely wonderful in caring for my dad. He began on the Memory Care Unit, and after a fall that led to a hospital and rehab stay, the administration and nursing staff recognized that he needed an additional level of care. They sat down with my mom and me to talk through what that care could and should look like, and we truly appreciated their honesty, compassion, and responsiveness. For families, it is so important to maintain routines that support the care plan and help create a sense of normality, safety, and comfort for loved ones who need additional care. The Piper staff has been incredibly supportive of that. My mom eats dinner with my dad nearly every evening, and that predictable routine helps him feel safe, connected, and loved. I was there recently and was instantly filled with joy watching the staff interact with all of the residents. You can tell they care deeply. The Piper is a special place, and our family is very grateful for the care, kindness, and dignity they continue to show my dad. I would definitely recommend The Piper to other families.

With my mother was diagnosed with Dementia and a stroke. It was time to find an assisted living facility. We visited many assisted living facilities and were stressed about picking one. After visiting The Piper we felt like home. My mother feels safe here and enjoys all the activities. The staff does a great job caring for their residents. Ramona, Raven, Kristy and David (maintenance man) are invaluable employees to The Piper!!!

I will say it again, your vibe is different and witnessing the interaction, love and care between the residents was humbling. It is SO very obvious, you love what you do. We recently moved our mom into The Piper Facility’s memory care unit, and I can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. From the very first call to tour the facility, the staff made what could have been an incredibly stressful and emotional process feel supported and manageable. They walked us through every step with patience, compassion, and professionalism—answering all our questions, helping with paperwork, and even offering guidance on how to talk to Mom about the transition. The care and attention didn’t stop once she moved in. The team has been there for our family every step of the way as we navigate these changes. Whether it’s a quick phone call or an in-person conversation, someone is always available to listen, offer support, and provide thoughtful advice. They truly treat the residents and their families like their own. The facility itself is beautiful—bright, clean, and welcoming, with comfortable spaces that feel like home rather than an institution. What stands out most are the daily activities. There’s a wonderful variety to choose from, and the staff does such a great job encouraging participation while respecting each resident’s preferences and energy levels. Mom has already joined several group activities and seems to be enjoying the music, crafts, and social time. We are so grateful to have found such a caring place for our mom. The Piper Facility has exceeded every expectation, and we highly recommend it to any family looking for quality memory care. Thank you to the entire team for your kindness and dedication!
